This is why Seb should have been punished. It's very clear that he now knows he can do or say whatever he feels like.
Exactly. But as he says himself: "Maybe it is a little bit of a dreamland that you all live in, but what do you expect to happen? Make a suggestion!" It appears that Dr. Marko's monster is now complete.
If I'm honest I wasn't expecting that! (Vettels comments not the bbc wumfest). I'm not sure what Vettel hopes to achieve by saying things like that, its not like its a heat of the moment comment. Formula 1 is more than just a race, I guess I am a Vettel neutral (or as close as you'll get to one) and I was routing for him in Brazil, but its amazing how opinions swing :s
His comments about not being punished are laughable. He has made himself look a bit stupid and the team. The F1 fans, teams and drivers etc will now think they don't punish their drivers for disobeying instructions. That team worships Vettel and are scared to punish him in case it causes more friction with the rest of the employees. He then contradicts himself by saying he was sorry to the team for ignoring the team orders but not for winning the race. Vettel's reputation has fallen even more I'd say.
Hamilton has cancelled his media engagements for Thursday in China and returned to his hotel due to illness. ooo eck, hope its nothing bad!

Vettel is a brutal winner and a good driver, and I know someone who has met him and says he's a nice chap in person. But he really doesn't come across as one, he comes across more of a child than anything. There are better drivers (in my opinion) on the track who can compete this year (from the start this year in Alonso's case), so he needs every point he can get. The one thing his comments have done now is made both drivers throw down the gauntlet. I can't wait for the close no quarter given combat between him and Webber... you can't deny that the battle over those few laps was on the edge of your seat sort of stuff! More of that this weekend and this year and it'll be one to remember!
I wonder if Vettel has ever considered a career in politics. And news just in. Nico dropped a raw chicken wing in Hamilton's frosties. The little tinker!
Regarding Vettel, it's like every generation has at least 1 Dick Dastardly type. The 80's had Senna and Prost (they were as bad as each other), 90's had Schumacher, the 00's had Schumacher and younger Alonso, now Vettel wants a go. Everyone loves a villain.
I still think he'd have been better off stating that he intentionally ignored the order and not apologized for it. It seems a bit flip-floppy at the moment. Many of the greats are ruthless... It's nothing for him to be ashamed of. He should embrace it.
I think if he came out straight after the race and said, yep ignored team orders because I want to win every race and I am 3 x WDC then fair enough. To go away, debrief with the team who have no control over him and then contridict everything he had said to date is unsporting to say the least. It smacks of, Vettel had a chat with Marko, they laughed their bollocks off, told Horner to shut the fuk up and then said lets make the situation worse. I personally hope Webber just T-Bones hom straight off the track.
The thing is if Vettel and Webber have a accidental coming together (and I know it todays world its impossible to have a faultless accident) then it will really kick off, even if both are entirely blameless!
Oh, it certainly seems like Jack Horner has been totally undermined in all this... And now he can't apply team orders. Makes ya wonder how much Webber's car will be tuned down by. Then again, he can't complain... he keeps signing up for it.
I think that we should skip the racing this year and replace it with a series of teammate punch-ups. It's the obvious way to settle these little issues.
