    Wales jump 22 places to 49th.

    Scotland are down to 77th.

    Northern Ireland are down to 119th.

    At this rate, I doubt they will even qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

    People always say that England shouldn't be so high, but I think it is just the media playing us down.

    For example, in the last 2 European Championships (2008 and 2012), we have only lost one 'knockout' tie - only Spain can beat that.

    FIFA World Rankings are totally misleading Brazil are only down the rankings because of the teams they play against, either low ranking or even non ranking plus they have not played many games in comparison over the qualifying period.

    Depressing stat but the one I always use to counter this kind of argument. We haven't won a competitive game against a major footballing nation in over 10 years now (Argentina in 2002). That is utterly appalling.
