"The truth will out", as they say. However, my knowledge of Marko goes back an awful long time, and Horner is a lightweight (to say the least).
I think Horner's there to be the public face and deal with the media, which, I have to say, he does much better than Marko. You could say Horner's the George W. Bush of RBR.
Yep. That's the foundation for my other nickname for Little Jack: "mouthpiece" (with a deliberately small 'm').
He's an oily little man, isn't he? I have to say though, your "Horner in a a corner" comes back to me every time I see him squirming with the media: did you come up with that after Turkey 2010?
Well, no more team orders, in my opinion, is to stop Mark doing the same on Seb when roles are reversed. So, they will put half a litre less fuel in marks tank so he has to conserve and slow up while seb pushes on. There are more ways than one to skin a cat. I voted for button, ever the optimist, I just want mclaren to have fixed the problem and be fighting for the title. Also wonder if button could get away with two stops. This weekend will be telling.
Yes, Max! I think you're probably right. What a memory you have! Pretty likely that was the first time I'd mentioned it in a forum. And Justjazz: I believe you have really seen under the veneer of "no more team orders". Marko has never been subtle; but I'll stop short of suggesting he might 'fix' a few things to avoid future embarrassment…
please log in to view this image The previous DRS zone on Shanghaiâs long back straight remains unchanged from previous years, with the activation point 752m before the turn 14 hairpin and the detection point in turn 12. The new DRS zone will be on the start/finish straight with a detection point before the final corner and activation beginning 98m after it.
Jesus, some people. If Vettel had been banned for a race it would no doubt be an attempt by Red Bull to lull Mark into a false sense of security.
You can't deny that Seb is favoured. Yes I am cynical because the evidence is there. Maybe the media have played this too strongly but you have never seen Mark consoled as Seb has been in the past. Human nature is what it is. In our own spheres there are parallels, from teachers pet to office creep. Banning seb for a race would have been stupid. If it came down to the wire between seb and mark you can't honestly believe RB would not engineer the result...I am just believing they might be a tad more subtle next time.
Ahhh, i love it. Finally Seb mans up. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/106631 ---- Asked if he would do the same again, Vettel replied: "I am not sure I can give you a proper answer because in the moment it might be different, but I would probably do the same. "Had I understood the message and had I thought about it, reflected on it, thought what the team wanted to do, to leave Mark in first place and me finishing second... I think I would have thought about it and I would probably have done the same thing. "He didn't deserve it. "There is quite a conflict, because on the one hand I am the kind of guy who respects team decisions and the other hand, probably Mark is not the one who deserved it at the time." Vettel and Webber have long had a fractious relationship, and the reigning world champion intimated that their history impacted on his Malaysian GP actions. "I never had support from his side," Vettel said. "I have a lot of support from the team, and the team has supported both of us the same way. "But in terms of the relationship to Mark, I respect him a lot as a racing driver, but I think there was more than one occasion in the past where he could have helped the team and he didn't." Despite not regretting his actions, Vettel said he stood by his decision to apologise to Red Bull. ... But he shrugged off suggestions that he should have received a formal punishment from Red Bull. "Maybe it is a little bit of a dreamland that you all live in, but what do you expect to happen?" said Vettel. "Make a suggestion!" ----
So what im gathering. Red Bull nolonger have team orders. - Does this mean no #1 and #2 drivers? Vettel and Webber have completely fallen out but will continue - Will they share data? Will they be cautious to overtake? How will this all aid the team?? I can understand some team orders in the interest of the team because it maximises their chances but Red Bull nolonger keeping team orders (Not saying I believe this) is surely going to open the door to huge risks and losing points. Red Bull have a very stupid move in my view.
The favoured Mark in the last race. They chastised Vettel after the race. They're not using team orders any more. And somehow this is all a conspiracy to subtly give Seb an advantage?
Not bad for a page full of copied quotes <ahem> I mean an Andrew Benson World exclusive! ...In fact its everything from tomcats autosport link above!
Seb is a selfish, arrogant, unsporting individual. I hope Webber kicks his butt, forget team orders, maybe time the German got a taste of a Schumacher style treatment to knock that smug grin of his face. Webber needs to make Seb eat his words in a calm, collective manner but one he will never forget. I don't want to see any bans issued to drivers, let us sort this out on the track properly. Plus it attracts more interest. That's all
