The Russians during WW2 remind me a bit of Zap Brannigans tale of defeating the Killbots by throwing wave after wave of his own men at them until they reached their kill limit and shut down

They only had a couple of machine guns per battalion, and they were saved for shooting any of their own men who retreated <yikes>

Didn't Finland kick the Russkies ass in WW2?

This handsome chap, Simo "White Death" Hayha, had over 500 confirmed sniper kills in WW2.

Do snipers have a PA who confirms their kills? Surely they'd be better forgoing an official kill record and using said PA to also kill the enemy? Just a thought.

Well sniper rifles aren't really suitable for CQC. They are at the distance where it is more effective to have one rifleman and a spotter prioritising targets. It's the spotter confirms the kill ..... I think

I bet the sniper slips the spotter the odd fiver to exaggerate his kills. Why can't the sniper do his own spotting anyway? Lazy bastard.
