Actually I stand corrected. The two howlers I'm thinking were his clown like defending in the last minute against Millwall that cost you the game. The other was when he didn't close down the winger, in the last minute, against Brighton who scored which meant you drew instead of winning. 5 dropped points due to his piss poor defending. I'm honestly amazed he has't been lambasted big style by you guys. Another weak link.
James' goal was well taken. He showed quick feet and finished very nicely. I'm proud of him. Shame De Laet ruined Matty's great work by not doing his job.
no he isn't, he is one of our stand out performers. Full backs are always going to be at 'fault' for not stopping a cross at some point, otherwise there wouldnt be a role of target men otherwise crosses would never come in!!
honestly, this is absolutely appalling wumming. You wont get any kind of angered reaction from anyone by abusing one of our players of the season
It is odd, I mean you could have 2 months of the season left to play, or 9 games, it'd be nearly 20% of the season. For a team that's playing for something (I'm including us as we seem to have started ours as well) I'm not sure having "end of season" awards starting now is a good idea, puts the wrong mindset in place. Aye, that's what you need from your defenders.
If he's one of your players of the season it's no wonder you won't make the play offs. I wouldn't say he's utter **** because that would be silly. He's just not that good.
He's been an almost ever-present part of the best defence in the league. But, of course, you're right and know better. He's awful, best get rid quick
Best defence, best central defender, best right back, best midfielder, best 2 centre forwards, best manager. Fail to make the play offs. Priceless.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table best defence in the league - see goals against. Not the best RB in the league (top 3), but a member of the best defence in the league. also - could well end the season as the best discipline in the league. How lovely is that! http://espnfc.com/stats/fairplay/_/league/eng.2/english-league-championship?cc=5739
Best defence? Yes, that is an undeniable fact. I didn't say he was the best right-back. Stop putting words in our mouths just to suit the opinion you want to have of us. You Hull lot seem to love doing that.
Look at the points column pal, that's what matters. It's not that difficult to grasp. Are you new to this game? Rugby fan by any chance?
Yes, huge rugby fan, school captain and get down to most the games that i can. No, points column is for the best team in the league you thick ****, the best defence in the league is for fewest goals against. The best attack is for the most goals score. Now thats not an overly difficult concept is it.
Would that be an angered reaction old chap? I played county standard at inside centre so not only do I know more about football than you I was also better at your preferred sport. BOOM!!!!!
Congratulations for resorting to the "well we're above you in the league", which has literally nothing to do with what we were talking about.
doubt you were, i was captain and open-side flanker at a very well-sporting regarded private school but had too many injury problems for county and EPDS and ultimately have given up playing the game full-time and only ever play one-off games now. And been converted to inside centre to protect the shoulder. Which county did you play for? And no, not an angered reaction, just a straight response to one of the most stupid posts on this board all year - a man claiming that the best defence is decided by total points rather than goals conceeded.
Time to just leave him I think Ed, I'm breaking the rules of my own signature replying to him, so I give up
And also, i was actually always meant to make it. Our school coach was also the county coach and told me to some to trials and id make it, but then tore my ankle ligaments playing for the school the day before. I always look back on that day as the day everything changed really, as as a result i didnt get into county that year, didnt get fast-tracked to the EPDS, lost out on the progression that i needed and never had a proper injury free-run again. I can reminisce about this forever actually, its the one moment in my life that stays with me more than anything, that 'what if' moment!
I converted to Union when I joined the Army at 17. I was brought up playing league. I represented the Army Colts and as such played county sides, hence saying county standard. We won as many as we lost and generally played southern counties. If memory serves me right we played Wellbeck College once? That's not far from you is it?
