You're not getting it, are you? He said: "I've Never Seen Star Wars... Well, not the originals. [He's only seen...] the ****ty Episodes: I, II and III." So he WAS asking about the originals, ie 4-6! Anyway, my view is that Star Wars is an 8/10 enjoyable adventure, The Empire Strikes Back is a bloody classic and by far the best, and Return of the Jedi is a mild 7/10 let-down.
My old English teacher looked like Yoda. I pronounce it Yodda and apparently it should be pronounced Yowda. That's what my geeky sci fi loving mate reckons but who made that silly **** an authority on such matters? Yodda or Yowda? You decide.
Does anyone remember queuing outside ABC, or Cecil for that matter, and getting to nearing the doors and some usherette comes outside and says it's full? Happened to me a few times, Star Wars being one. None of this advance booking lark we have today.
Did he now ? It read like he was talking about 1, 2, 3, which are the crap prequels. imo Oh well. My error.
Th only one of the prequel trilogy I can tolerate is Episode III - and that is only because it rounds up the whole story quite well. The first two are a disgrace to humanity.
as a 41 yr old i watched Starwars for the first time towards the end of last year , we watched them during breaks at work , we watched the original 3 and then the 1st new one (after watching the first of the newer 3 films we had all had enough and i think we watched the One foot in the grave boxset) Personally i thought they were ****e , meandering waffle that could have been done in 25mins. Darth Vader was an interesting character lost in the lengthy forgetful other bits.
I'm not a massive fan of Sci Fi films, but the old ones are good watching when you're bored. 4 & 5 are enjoyable imo, the 6th was good but the bit in the forest with the weird furry midgets (ewoks I think) is poor. The Emperor & Vader vs Luke Skywalker bit is a good storyline. The whole concept of Jar Jar Binks is a piss take and makes the newer films ****e viewing. Also, i can't believe he's making some new films after the last 3 were universally panned. Talking about milking a cash cow.
says a lot about my fondness for the originals that when the 20th century fox music is played at the start of any film, NO tune other than the opening fanfare of the star wars theme sounds applicable. star wars is up there with the bourne trilogy (the non Matt Damon bourne can go **** itself) as films I can happily watch over and over and over again. classics, get'em watched!
He sold the rights for approx. £2.5bn! He might not be milking it, but he's got one hell of a healthy cow
Mate of mine at work is a member of the 501st Stormtrooper Legion. He's got all the gear. He let me play with his helmet the other week.
