I have no need to make you look like a Tory Backbencher.

They say that it is the wise one, that sees the calamity coming afar off, but only the fool must pay the price. And it seems we have some fools on here, that's for sure! PGF and ProjectVRD I salute you two boys for seeing things as they truly are, but not all men are born with such insight and discernment, so remember that!.................

PS: We truly live in a divided country that serves the purpose of the ruling class, and until we get rid of the Monarchy and its Blue party we will never be free in this country, they are kings of ambiguity and deceit, they can never be trusted, and if anyone thinks that his vote will change things, then he is simply deluded, politicians move to the pipe and tune of big business, and it's all a racket for sure...................<ok>

... wasn't going to post again but that is way wide of the mark Jager ... trade union membership can cover a broad spectrum of political views and indeed some members may even be completely apolitical ... undermines the valid points you make to some extent. It might be fair to assume that the majority of members of a mining Union would vote labour - fair enough - but that's about as far as you can make such assumptions.

Its about opinion Phil, I happen to believe what I say, and don't try and have sly little digs at people. Sorry if that upsets the apple cart but I think I will stay open minded on maggie, not so open on the luny left communist backed unions at that time!

So you advocate getting rid of democracy then phil, I don't like them the same as the red party, I think they are all pampered ****ers who have public schoolboy education and don't live in the real world. But they are here, and people have the right to vote for them, a one party system is what a communist would want. Is that what you want?

As for the monarchy, you can have them or take them, I am for them as they give more to the country than they take out, as long as that continues I am happy for them to exist.

So what you are saying then is that I can't criticise the unions because it doesn't meet your ideals. But people are allowed to say that they are happy to dance on maggie's grave and are happy she is dead, does that sum it up then?

I happen to hold unions in extreme esteem, think of **** scraping off a boot and that just covers it, I hold political parties, and I mean all of them in a similar vein, though i'd like to scrape the **** off my boot in their mouths!

Quite right Jager - you never make sly digs at people. You just openly insult them.

thank god we did have trade unions or we would have been even worse off under thatcher...I hope the funeral procession gets just deserts and the TV companies from around the world show the feelings of a vast amount of the general public in their disgust of the millions of pounds being wasted on this unnecessary over the top funeral just a few days after cutting benefits for the most vulnerable saying we cant afford it....Let her own multimillion family pay for it or better still have a quiet private funeral that all the other Pm's who have passed on have had......

No I haven't insulted anyone apart from an organisation, now if you want to pass on my comments to said organisations to be outraged then carry on. Does it mean by the way that you feel the same about the other political parties?

Dai, you know that I would be the 1st miserable bugger to disagree with you if I thought you were wrong you've been spot on with everything you've said on this thread.
Thatcher and the torys have done fcuk all for Wales ever. She was an evil megalomaniac and I don't think for one minute there would be the same outpourings of feeling if any other PM like Major or Blair had passed away instead. It's not nice to celebrate anyone's death not even Thatchers but the woman has been the most hated person in my lifetime and I do not want my taxes to pay for the bitch's funeral. Let her own family pay for it instead

I do advocate getting rid of the monarchy it's symbolic of all that's wrong in the British isles! And yes it is all about opinions Jager, but just because you friend says that you can put your hand in the fire, doesn't make your friends opinion true, or beneficial, you know sometimes it's good to take onboard others view points, and see if we can learn from them, it's clear to me that PGF has a very good historical perspective, and he perceives things as they are, why you want to focus on the unions is beyond me, and if you think it was all about the unions back then, then you have really missed the point. Governments should be about serving the people not ripping them off and lording it, in a so-called democracy!................<ok>

Dai I have to say you are spot on with your posts on this thread mate!.......<cheers>

"As for the monarchy ... I am for them as they give more to the country than they take out..."

Sorry,Jager, but this is monarchist claptrap, and has no truth in reality. The brown nose brigade together with vested interest groups have played this card from time immemorial.

Mrs. Windsor, and her large extended family are TAKERS,and not givers. It is a fallacy that they bring in vast numbers of tourists. How many tourists actually get to see any member of Mrs. Windsor's brood?

The tourists come to U.K. for many reasons but the RF are not amongst them.

"Let her own family pay for it instead".

    Here,here,Dill.

It's not as if they are short of a few bob. One of the broadsheet newspapers,The Observer,I think, did an in depth investigation into the wealth of Maggie and her son. This was while she was still in office. The actual figures escape me now but between the two of them they had amassed over £500,000,000.00. Now how did they achieve that? Answers on a postcard...

I loved the hypocritical way she sent John Redwood into the Council Estates in Newport to berate the single mothers for sponging on The State.
One Labour MP asked her in The Commons a short while later,"What advice would the Prime Minister give the single parents? Would it be to go out and find themselves a millionaire to marry".
    She was apoplectic with rage.

And I suppose you have the statistics to show that tourists don't come here for the royal family then. So I guess this is another argument on here, I believe tourists come here for amongst other things the royal family, the reason I know is that my extended family came here to see a lot of things associated with them.

My wife by the way is an immigrant who came to live here from Eastern Europe, she works here and has kids, she is also British now, but then I guess judging from the mentality on here she should sod off back where she came from. I mean she wasn't born here and all that.

I think the immediate royal family do more good for this country and are worth every penny, its the hangers on that are not worth any money spent on them and if you think that a lot of footballers are earning more than the queen and we still support them by going to see them then whatever the monarchy receives is peanuts and they generate a hell of a lot of money...

Yes it's good to have other points of view, shame that doesn't exist on here in regards to thatcher, and as an alternate view is put you get called basically a Tory sympathiser because of it.

And your point about governments serving people, now you've intrigued me, care to mention one government ever who has done this ? You can scour the world if you wish, and can start from the roman times if you find it difficult.

My thoughts on MPs and political parties including unions is one of utter contempt, they are just self serving scumbags, Scargill was one, Blair another, and Cameron is most certainly one, and of course so was thatcher, but at least she had some gumption about her.

.. no ... not at all ... Unions and their leaders should be just as open to criticism as any other body or group in terms of their actions and policies etc - but personally i don't think it is correct to assume that a Trade Union is nothing more than a pseudo-political party of left wing sympathisers. What's next? - the mad lefty Boy Scout Brigade with their egalitarian pseudo-communist ideals?

Since no tourist ever gets an audience with any of the royal rabble it is clearly NOT THEM that they come to see.
It may well be that tourists flock to gawp through the railings of the Council House on the end of The Mall, and take pictures of the horse guards, etc., but they could do all of that WITHOUT the need to have an unelected, yes UNELECTED, body of people who go around living the life of Riley.

Time to get rid of the f...ers.
