It's been a brilliant season. Surely it will topped off by the title. I have already started to think about the grounds that I will visit when the new season starts ; Saturday 3rd., August . I am also eagerly waiting to renew my two season tickets - as yet the club have not released any information on the subject. Now we all know that the reason is that PDS has waited to see in which division we will play. Well we now know the answer - so I would expect that supporters will very soon be invited to apply for season tickets & renewals. How much are you willing to pay for modest success ? My tickets in the Siver section of GRS cost £ 340 each for this season (early deal). If I had waited until after June it would have been £380. I suspect an amount of 'propaganda' from Mr.Scally to 'justify' any increase in the prices, e.g. " No rise for 2 years, in fact a significant reduction in prices last season etc " I think I will be paying about £ 425*** for next season. And PDS will point out that this is 'only' £ 18.47 per match. He will extend the half price ticket offer to STH from 2 to 4 matches, and will point out that this will 'save' us around £ 48 on match day prices over the season - when actually it will be other occasions when he will get more money from us. Well - that's my guess - what do the rest of you think is a reasonable price to pay for modest success ? * - that's 25% ! ** - of course that's only the 'early deal' prices.
I'm in the same section and there is no way I'm paying £425! At £18.47 per match there isn't enough differential from the regular matchday price (which is currently £21 for that area) to justify renewing the season ticket. I generally miss a game or two during the season to work or other family commitments so for me it would make sense to keep hold of my money and buy tickets individually.
I see your point, but in today's world you will get what you pay for, with promotion assured, next season will be harder. We all are very eager to say sign him, sign him do this do that!!! (Cody!!) Bills have to be paid, transfer fees are not paid with shirt buttons, wages, agents they all add up. When the time comes that we have a few suspensions and a couple of injuries and nothing in the coffers a quick return to league two we will see. I have not been to priest field for over 3 years now(due to my location Isle of Wight) my travel and ticket price plus a few beers is over £100 simple can not afford. Sign Cody!! sign German without prices increases cannot afford.
Gills79 ALL prices will be raised. The current matchday price I expect will go up to about £23 ( maybe £24 ) - so £ 425 ( or £18.47 ) doesn't seem 'too bad' under the circumstances. I think £18.47 isn't that bad - and I genuinely feel sorry for those that cannot afford to pay 'up front'
We can expect all sorts of PR diversions from Scally to distract attention from the inevitable price rise. i think most supporters are conditioned to an increase but what we all expect is comparability with League 1 prices at other clubs. I will await the new prices with interest but it is the comparison with other teams that I will be looking at not the season on season increase. i suspect we already pay way above league 1 prices!
I realise all prices will be increased - that's why I said "currently £21" I still can't see anyway that a GRS silver section ticket will increase by 25% to £425. My guess is we will be able to get it for £370 - £380 But you are Alwaysright......
I expect prices to rise significantly. Look at Bury. On the verge of going out of business probably because of small crowds and cheap tickets. We all want success but we don't get the 10k plus crowds but we still want quality players that cost. Its a vicious . If .circle.if you don't sign good players they need decent money to try to get success but if you get in cheap players you're likely to finish with small crowds and you're still going to be paying out. Its a difficult balancing act
anything above 10% will be too much.expect prices will be sorted out on last home match with reduced prices if bought b4 may. i got my early bird price for 320 so 10% increase should be 352then 400 if bought later
I was pretty close with my predication of new season ticket price which is now £345 early bird price. Bit closer than alwaysnot right under 12 price only £30 for season aswell Very happy with the price also 20% off new shirt and 2 free tickets for any match for friends plus 4 tickets for £5
I wish you people would stop thinking that I'm alwaysright. - I did say I'd be delighted if I was wrong. I am equally delighted that, despite the £ 25 increase in the price of my tickets, because of the extra deals being offered to season ticket holders, - I will make a savings of £118 on other tickets and the replica shirt that I usually buy each season --- £££££( ker - ching )
