The 3 week end is in sight, think this break after the first two races is more depressing than the off season..
Aye, even though I'm working from home on Friday, I can't see myself staying up that late.. so FP2 it is for me as well.
Marko: No more team orders at Red Bull http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/8629161/Marko-No-more-team-orders-at-Red-Bull
and on and on? nice viewpoint here http://www.planetf1.com/driver/3261/8609604/Was-Webber-Goading-Vettel-
The Red Bull team orders controversy is set to be thrust firmly straight back into the spotlight at the Chinese Grand Prix after Mark Webber was summoned to appear in Thursday's Drivers' Press Conference. Sebastian Vettel's disregard of team orders to overtake Webber and win the last race in Malaysia has remained the major talking point in F1 since the rumpus erupted three weeks ago and Thursday is set to be the first time the Red Bull team-mates publicly speak about the incident since their initial reactions on the Sunday evening at Sepang. Although wild speculation in the immediate aftermath of the race suggested Webber may even consider his F1 future, the Australian has travelled to Shanghai and will face the world's media in the press conference which will be broadcast live at 8am on Thursday morning on Sky Sports F1. With Webber certain to be the centre of attention, the remaining five drivers in the Thursday line-up are likely to be a relative supporting cast, although Mercedes' Nico Rosberg is near certain to face similar questioning over team orders after he was instructed to finish behind his team-mate Lewis Hamilton at Sepang. Sergio Perez is also appearing ahead of a big weekend for McLaren's chances of a 2013 recovery, while Lotus's Romain Grosjean, Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg and Force India's Adrian Sutil complete the line-up. Meanwhile, in Friday's Team Principals' equivalent, Red Bull's Christian Horner headlines a line-up which also includes Ross Brawn and Williams's newly-installed Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams. Hopefully with the 3 weeks holiday everything should be at peace. I mean that for In the world of F1 and here too on the Forum!!! Is it me or has it been really quiet? Hardly any stories coming out. It seems F1 promoters have failed to keep the hype (I would argue the hype was very poor for the opener of the season too)...
And Vettel withdraws his apology, kind of. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/22098438 He's not sorry for winning the GP, just seemingly sorry for how he did it. Yeah, work that out.
That's an admission of defeat - they can't control Vettel and they can't punish him either. Horner and Marko really do have no balls.
In some ways a surprising admission by Marko, but if they do favour Vettel I presume they think he can take down Webber on his own, which is a fair opinion given the last 3 years
Yes Forza, I see your point here, and largely agree*. In this day and age, it seems astonishing that an employee is effectively laying down the law to his employers. However, if Marko's claims of "no more team orders" pans out to be true (rather than a cynical attempt to underplay the events of last race), it should make for some interesting viewing. As far as Horner's concerned, I don't think he's ever had the balls to stand up to Marko. He's been pulled this way and that and still has to front the media with ineffective bluster. However, back to the facts of recent events: I believe Vettel's disobedience will be turned to cunning advantage in respect of Red Bull's marketing strategy. I expect some subtlety to sell the imagery as a positive appeal to a collective rebellious youth. Surely this is an open goal; an opportunity too good to miss?- - -o0o- - - *Opinion "Little Jack Horner sat in the corner, eating a christmas pie; he put in his thumb, and pulled out a plum, and said 'What a good boy am I!' ". Well, a nursery rhyme it may be, but the following analogy is easy: Marko pulls little Jack's strings; he ordered him to sit in the corner; and he still tells him when to stick in his thumbâ¦
"Horner in a corner, Horner in a corner..." Ah, the good old days of the BBC! Seriously though, this is it: it's Vettel and Marko's gig. Seb even retracted his apology today, not that I thought he was sincere in the first place.
Hahaha, you remember my chant? Hehe… what can I say, other than it is still blatantly relevant!?
