Thatcher was very good- and very bad.
The good.. She put more money into the pockets of hard workers. She stood up to the Unions(no-one should hold the country to ransom). She encouraged initiative and pride in our country. She did not encourage political correctness(like the arsehole politicians today).
The bad.....She put over 3 million people out of work. During British Leyland's troubles, she welcomed and encouraged foreign imports of cars, even though you couldn't export a single car into Tokyo-the result was the Japanese took 51% of the market for the first time one month, and the rest is history. With North Sea oil, she stated how it would benefit us- the result has been a joke- just dearer and dearer petrol and the oil revenue used to balance a top heavy budget of UK admin.
Verdict....They'll give her a funeral like Churchill's- another cost to the taxpayer. Judge for yourself. She certainly divided the country and her legacy will likewise polarise opinion.

North Sea oil revenue was used to pay for a series of pointless wars and not just by Thatcher.

"Their hate-filled rants on the internet encouraged violent scenes across the country at anti-Thatcher parties.

And an investigation by the Mail has discovered that the organisers of the street parties include a young union firebrand, a former Unison branch secretary and committed anarchists.

Members of various anarchist and socialist groups used the power of the internet to arrange disgraceful ‘Thatcher death parties’ in various British cities."

Leggo's back in work I see?

I read it for the comments section. It's full of nutters, racists and wind-up merchants.

Don't we see the truth of that every single day? Where's the by-pass, pedestrianisation of the city centre?

FFS the lottery had to pay for Duthie Park to get fixed up.

Yes and this region contributes more than most to the revenue generated in Britain and we get **** all for it.

It will be even worse if fatso Salmond gets in as all the money will doled out to the scroungers in the Central Belt.

Aberdeen's entire lay out, from the shopping centres (Trinity Centre FFS <doh>) to the by-pass to an empty Union Street, has been about 20 years behind every other major British city. A farce given the money it's generating, and has generated, for the past 40 ****ing years.

i'm glad i'm a posh ****y ***** fae leafy Cults <ok>
