http://playbackmedia.co.uk/qprpodcast/ Probably one of the best QPR podcast of all time. Neil Warnock speaks to Finney and co. all things QPR. The Championship winning season, the signings we missed and why ( Alex and Parker ) Briatore, Barton, and the QPR fans. He will reply to us all!!! This is a great listen. I still love the fella even if the last two years have been ****.
Warnock is like a permanent haemorrhoid. You know he is going to pop his head out every now and then but if you leave it alone and don't aggravate him, things aren't so bad when he has nothing much to say, it's just when he starts to play up, you know he's going to be a right royal pain in the as_rse.
Thanks Nines. First time I have listened to this, only listened to a couple of minutes so far. Do they usually have a guest? Whoever the blokes talking are they are obviously R's to the core, but do any of them have any inside info? Not sure if I have the time to listen to a pub conversation that I can't join in, even if it is about the Rs......
He's alright is warnock. Love the bit when he says he feels bitter to Hughes and always will - but doesn't any more.
A very polarising character is Neil, personally I love to hear from him. Rightly or wrongly he speaks his mind but I find that a refreshing change from the grey uninteresting individuals that seem rife in our sport these days.
sadly for Neil, QPR were never going to keep him long term, he did a job and they wanted to move on. He holidays is Cornwall and the Board holiday in Asia. He didn't fit the bill for a QPR manager that the owners want. Always have respect for NW because he brought the players/club together. He did a job just as Holloway did. He took over at a time when the club was going backward s and turned it around. At the time I thought it was right to get rid and thought Hughes was the man to take us forward, how wrong I was. We will never know what would have happened and it will always be 'if only'. Redknapp is like a NW type but better and is seen as a top manager. We should not dismiss NW comments because he talks sense and is the sort of manager you need in the Championship or when a fight is on. He is a football man through and through and should always be respected by QPR fans because he brought a 'good feel' to our club.
Colin is a living Legend for me. In Sexton, El Tel, Holloway and Harry we have had some great Managers in my time, and Colin is right up there with them. Never thought he should have been fired and still don't. In my heart I'd like him back if Harry should leave, but my head tells me it won't work a 2nd time around, even if TF wanted to rehire him, which I doubt.
We should never, ever forget what that man done for our club, like him or not. The championship winning season was a truly magical time.
Put a smile on my face yesterday when i heard the pod....This time 2 years ago we beat Barnsley away and almost promoted.... 2 years later we are almost relegated....Thanks for the good times Neil...
A decent listen and took me back to a great time for our club.... As for the comment about listening to a pub conversation; it's just really good to hear others views who obviously get to the games - being at the other side of the world, it's another way to stay connected. That episode is up there with "cut Mackie some flak" for entertainment. Finney and the boys produce occasional podcast gold.
They do Ian, it must of been really hard for them to do these shows this season. That's a good point you make about overseas Rs feeling and staying connected to the club. A very good point indeed. I did find myself smiling as I listened to this one though.
Warnock at his best and came across as extremely genuine when talking about his time with us. Wonder if he'll get round to replying to the 5000
As ever, someone has produced a newspaper article out of the interview on Open all R's, this will give you the gist mate. http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/english/2013/0409/380575-warnock-takes-another-swipe-at-hughes/ He speaks very fondly of his time at QPR (he clearly feels the same for Palace), it was definitely a feel good piece. There seem to be rumours this morning that he is going back to Sheffield Utd.
Agreed, I may have called him a haemorrhoid, because his can be .............. but I do like him and value what he did for the club, make no mistake.
