Gentlemen six games to go with a possible 18 points making a total of 42 points enough to keep us in the Premier.

Yeh, that has got to be the aim. I hope Harry is instilling into the players that winning all 6 is in fact doable if they play to their maximum abilty, be professional and cut out the stupidities of the last 5 minutes Sunday.

    Draw at Everton.
Beat Stoke, Reading, Toon and Arsenal.
    Draw at Liverpool.

    14 pts + our 24 = 38. Could just be enough!

Looking at the at the table again it looks very unlikely to me that 38 points will be enough. I reckon 40 points may be enough, so 5 wins and "just" a draw at Liverpool might do it.

The fact that it's still doable somehow is pissing me off even more.

To revert back to the formula we were fond of earlier in the struggle we just have to win three more games than Wigan and Sunderland, and the same amount as Reading, leaving draws completely out of the equation. On paper that looks doable but grass is a much more unforgiving surface. Pity.

its doable, but the frustrating thing I have noticed is you keep shooting yourself in the foot, from what I saw slightly lucky to beat the saints, but villa away game should of been all over by half time, ffc gave us 2 goals for sure, then wigan, I think it was a mistake after the saints game to drop green if he was not injured, I know the Brazilian is better but not in form

    I've noticed it too. :(

We need to take the pitch believing things will go for us - half of all luck is in the mind.

    Never over until it's impossible.

yet more snippets of hope for us...To be honest, the damage is done this season. We have been saying must win this, must win that, for most of the season!. Beat Arsenal, then Everton..then Stoke..then draw with Liverpool,etc,etc...Even if we managed to fluke those results(probably about 1000/1 chance) we still wouldnt have enough to be safe!. In a way,I hope Everton can put us out of our misery and we can move on.

I agree with that if you just look at the table. But when you look at the respective teams' remaining fixtures and current form, it is quite plausible that Sunderland and even Stoke may not get to 38 pts. Wigan and Villa have tougher rin ins than us too. A couple of wins for us would certainly put the cat among the pigeons!!
Listen...............I'm grasping for the last remaining straw in the box, I know that. I realise that we're almost certainly going down, but while there's hope I'm not giving up just yet.

Talking about which teams have the hardest or easiest run-in is completely irrelevant as we seem unable to win a game at present, that's what I find infuriating. We don't seem to be capable of taking advantage of the poor form of our would be relegation replacements. Oh well, maybe Goodison will begin the miracle for us......

I'll have some of what you're smoking! :)

Like your style DT, always have. At the moment though I have abandoned hope for the first time this season, unfortunately. Can not put myself through the same heartbreak again like I experienced on Sunday and against Villa before that. Picked myself up (took me 10 days) after the Villa game and kept on believing even though we came away empty handed against Fulham. But Wigan's equaliser was the straw that broke this camel's back I'm afraid.

Anyway, what you are trying to do here is admirable and not least vital to keep this site ticking. Keep it up good man <ok>
