Our good friend Phil at Hull Daily Mail has just retweeted somebody's photo of the front cover of tomorrow's Hull Daily Mail where part of the page says Hobbs may not be out for the season after all. Thoughts?
Still think we should go 4-4-2 for the next 2 away matches. Chester and Faye, with hopefully Hobbs on the bench.
Agree John. Although I've been wishing we'd go 4 at the back all season, the few times we have done I think we've looked a far better, more comfortable and dangerous side.
We definitely need to go 4-4-2 for these 2 upcoming away games, we haven't been playing particularly well recently and we can do without fannying about playing people out of position at this crucial stage of the season.
It was supposed to be a month, which would mean he'd only just be back in training by the time we were kicking off against Cardiff.
The club said it was 2-3 weeks, but at the last press conference Bruce said he thought it was more likely to be a month, being available for Saturday is one hell of a turn-around. Though it's now confirmed that Bruce junior is out for the season.
Amber Nectar reporting the injury re diagnosed as twist not ligament damage, not sure what the difference is... but that he's back in contention for satuday "The towering defender limped off with an ankle injury against Watford last week but instead of the initial three-week lay-off predicted, he now could be in contention to face Ipswich Town on Saturday after the original diagnosis of ligament damage was altered to just a twist." http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2013/04/news-bruce-out-for-season-but-hobbs-returns/?
Anyone concerned we rush players back too early and risk more significant injuries? Aluko, Bruce, Hobbs?
I think Bruce as carried an injury for most of the season, he seems to come off every other week, Regarding Aluko i think his injury was one of them type you have to rest and hope but having done that and tried it out which had to be done it was confirmed he needed the operation, i think if we had rested Aluko for another couple of months at the end of it an operation would still have been needed. Great news regarding Hobbs we need him back with five games in such a short space of time lets hope he is 100% fit
Yeah, we seem to do this a lot. In the PL it was Hunt, ***an and Garcia. Aluko, Bruce, Hobbs and Fryatt all fell foul this season. They seem to avoid surgery, risk it then end up getting surgery anyway. If the option is there, they should just get it over with and get them onto the road to recovery asap. If they'd had it earlier they might have featured later in the season. There was a player in lower league who suffered a bad injury, but his club sorted it out early andhe was back after a couple of months. On a side note, aren't some of the injuries these days pathetic? Bruce said Gedo has a 'sore foot'. Well boo ****ing hoo. Get his mother to kiss it better. Same with a dead leg. I got loads in school and was back playing the next day; some players are out for up to two weeks!
Bruce might not be out for the season, he's got to keep his feet up for ten days, then go for another scan.
