Mindy ffs. New Labour is nothing like the Labour of 1979. The fact is because of misguidance by Labour in 1979 that Britain was bankrupt. Like the pikey Irish of today we had to go cap in hand to the International Monetary Fund because we were skint. I was never a fan of Thatcher's policies (some were good, some were outrageous). The Poll Tax finally killed her off. And she was an arrogant ****. The likes of Ben Elton, Billy Bragg and Paul Weller did alright out of Tory policies though and when do they ever tell you about the good old days in 1979? Britain was a shambles. It was obvious the Tories would get in. Were you even alive in 1979? The Winter Of Discontent. Britain was on it's knees.

Do you have any idea of how much money is given to 'migrants' in benefits every year? Please have a guess. You'll be incredibly wrong. Your opinion is full of ****e, you cannot blame immigration for the mess this country is in, but you can blame the vile **** that died yesterday for shutting down the industries in most areas of britain without replacing them, creating generations of unemployed Jeremy Kylers. Most benefits go towards paying for old peoples' pensions, the best thing you could do to help would be to kill yourself now, rather than vote tory and **** this country up even more
Pensions aren't a benefit, Toby. In 95% of the cases, these folks have been paying NI for 45/50 years. Thatcher shut down the loss making mines and the nationalised factories which were stifled by bone-idle 'work to rule' ****pig ****s. I admit that Maggie was a ****, but she booted the unions right in the goolies and forced through change that was required to make the UK competitive again. She made mistakes but in the main, what she did was necessary.
I was 14 in 1979. I and countless others were fully aware of the mess that Old Labour had put the country in. And in fact successive governments (of all persuasions) have since ****ed this country up. It's little wonder Scotland is almost verging on Independance. Was speaking to a Shetlander last night and he confirmed to me about Shetland being Nordic. Be interesting to see if Shetland do split from the UK and what happens with the oil if they either go alone or link up with Norway? Sullen Woe indeed.

Right Wing = Xenophobic + Nationalist + Religious + Middle Aged + Middle Class + Upper Class + Monarchist and believe that their way of life is superior to others, the working class are capable but lazy, that 'outsiders' are a threat to them and have some sentimental notion that the purer, older version of their nation was superior - other nations are culturally weaker and their armed forces are the most moral in the world. Left Wing = Working Class + Middle Class + Atheist + Believe in big state and believe that their version of equality is the truth, that the state is the only force that can bring this truth to pass, and the more the state is right the more the state should interfere in your life, to make sure you get free money for having a disability, to monitor your labour activity to make sure that they have got as much as they demand - to, at the stroke of a pen, decide that this year they will take 50% of your wages off you instead of the normal 40%, because you, your health, your education and your labour are the property of the state - and the state knows better than you. Who is right?
