Was he the deaf fella? The golden era for wrestling was the 80s with Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks - Not this WWF ****e. Someone should ring into Sportstalk when Mike White is next on and ask him who his favourite wrestler is Seriously I'm with Gerrard on this WWE = Gay.
haha i laughed when i saw gerrard had put it, was hoping it would find its way to Mike White who goes on about it far too much...
Does anyone remember when Papa Shango put a curse on Ultimate Warrior that made spiders go in his stomach so he spewed up everywhere? Very Alex Bruce. One of the many WWF/WWE classics of my day. Also the mini-Doink (Dink) and when Marti Janetti got thrown through the window in Brutus the Barber Beefcake's salon... It's all flooding back. I was enthralled.
Oh Aye, Kendo Nagasaki was a ledge. I think he was a bit of a martial arts loving loner / oddball from Wolverhampton or somewhere like that. He used to kick off against Haystack and Daddy regular like. I was about 7 when he was unmasked live on World of Sport in 1977 - I never saw it at the time, but last week there was a programme about the best bits of World of Sport (Evel Knievel was also on) and they showed the unmasking. I gasped!
Kendo Nagasaki from Wolverhampton? Now you've explained, I vaguely remember him, but I really wasn't paying that much attention at the time. Back in 77, the only thing that really mattered, was The Clash.
Blimey FLG, you've sparked some memories there...I can remember during the early 70s my great gran screaming at the TV on a Saturday afternoon at the Royal brothers and Adrian Street (Hell's Angels?) on a tag team bout. My great grandfather said at the time ''she's worse at the wrestling at Maddely Street baths''. Apparently, she tried to hit them with her hand bag ... jeez... For the record...Jackie Pallo!
Christ... I remember that so well. Feels like yesterday. I thought it was later than '77, more like early 80's. it's probably on you tube, but can't be arsed to look
Wasn't Jimmy Savile part of the UK wrestling scene at one point? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere... EDIT: yes he was...
Scotty2Hotty was my favourite coz I could do the worm haha Obviously the rock and stone cold as well, i was never a big jericho fan though
