Don't take this as being a supporter of Thatcher, I'm not, in fact I don't have faith in any politician, past or present. But if history servers me right Churchill was thrown out of office after the war after all he did for his country, Thatcher was thrown out of office likewise. We had Blair who on election said one of his heroes was Margaret Thatcher, then Gordon Brown inviting her to Downing Street, which to me means there is no difference between any of them whatever colour rosette they wear. The only people politicians look after are politicians, they are subsidised by us for their meals, abode and expenses, they fiddle the books and then feign amnesia when found out, Thatcher will go down in history books as a saviour to some as a destroyer to others, she's not the first to be called all the names under the sun, but she will be remembered long after most of us are gone.

The **** was a psychopath. She lacked compassion, she lacked empathy, she lacked basic humanity. She certainly wouldnt care what anyone writes about her. She tried to cleanse this country of decency and compassion for your fellow human beings as such I'm ****ing glad she's dead. I hope she suffered ****ing terribly in a long drawn out death.

Burn in hell you ****ing ****.

I lived through her Premiership and have always spoken out against her, so i'm not going to be a hypocrite and praise her now. But i'm not going to dance on her grave either, i'm just indifferent to the news.

Oh, why is she being afforded a Ceremonial Funeral? Winston Churchill I can understand, but Thatcher?

My parent's were both working class and they benefited a lot from her policies.

People really need to remember, or research, what a ****ing shambles the country was in before she took over - with three election victories in a row (oh yeah really unpopular).

The three election victories were against Callaghan, Foot and Kinnock, probably the three weakest Labour leaders in modern times. She did well in the South amongst her own, but was hated in the North and Scotland.

    GERRY ADAMS, SINN FEIN PRESIDENT:

"Margaret Thatcher did great hurt to the Irish and British people during her time as British prime minister. Working class communities were devastated in Britain because of her policies. Her role in international affairs was equally belligerent whether in support of the Chilean dictator Pinochet, her opposition to sanctions against Apartheid South Africa; and her support for the Khmer Rouge. Here in Ireland her espousal of old draconian militaristic policies prolonged the war and caused great suffering."

He sounds as embittered and confused a loser as some on this thread.

His views on the Northern Ireland are biased and for an IRA leader to talk about devastated communities is a bit rich. However everything else he said was spot on.
