Well it's not often I agree with a Town fan but Warky you're spot on. If Margaret Thatcher had not stood up to the bullying unions all those years ago, God knows what state this country would be in now, it's bad enough as it is.

    RIP Mrs T<rose>

This is often the argument people put forward for their admiration of her. Adolf Hitler was also a strong leader who stood by his principles.

This makes all kinds of sense.. this country would be in a state without Thatcher... no, wait, it is <doh> The current lot are even worse mind you because they're incompetent as well as evil and finishing it off for good.

Those who are enjoying the fact that an old lady had a stroke and died should be very proud of themselves...

I don't think she was too concerned about old people in her day <doh> Doing away with municipalisation so the elderly could get the market value for their home when they downsized or moved into sheltered housing just one of many examples, not that housing is in a mess now or anything.

She got this country out of a mess but created another one, she went too far too fast, without thinking the impact it could have on peoples lives, she was as it were tunnel visioned to a certain ideology (that's a dangerous thing to happen). IMO she is now one of the major reasons why this country is in a mess, she started the ball rolling and New Labour continued it, over reliance on the financial sector, unresponsible capitalism, making the fast buck, getting rid of manufacturing and industry, riping communities apart!! I can see why people hate her but I don't think people should revel in her death!!

PTC - I and millions of others have been waiting for this news for thirty years. I first felt the effects when she had my brilliant infant school closed in 1982. There used to be such a thing as consensus politics, her legacy is the country and the MPs we have today.

Even if she did a terrible job and got everything wrong(which i don't think she did by the way) is it right to enjoy her death.

RIP Mrs Thatcher. A great lady in my opinion who had to make a lot of unpopular decisions. Don't think people should be bad mouthing her on here to be honest. DISGUSTING.

Oh of course she smashed the unelected trade unions and their vested interests who were holding this country to ransome until she came along.

Best thing she ever did <ok>
