okay - last gasp goal for Wigan to get a point - no serious harm done today with Cats losing and Wigan not winning
It's easy to let doubt creep in but the probability of City surviving have increased today. As I said on the Relegation Watch thread: The key thing is that it is in our own hands. Sunderland losing and Wigan drawing against 10 man QPR will hurt them both and both have very difficult run-ins from here. Sunderland: Newcastle(a), Everton(h), Villa(a), Stoke(h), Southampton(h), Spurs(a) Wigan: Swansea(h), Man City(a), West Ham(a), Spurs(h), WBA(a), Arsenal(a), Villa(h) Hard to see either getting more than 6-7 points from those fixtures. QPR and Reading are now both out of it from City's point of view.
It's conceivable, but unlikely, that both Sunderland and Wigan could get nine points from those sets of games. We need to control our own destiny and not rely on the misfortune of others. If we play like we did yesterday (apart from the first 30 and last 10 minutes) we'll be ok and get the results we need.
Couldn't agree more. We've got away with our dire run of playing badly, now let's see CH make some changes to the team, so that we have a more attack-minded formation and TACTICS!!!!!
Beefy, I like your posts normally, agreeing with most of them, but I think your comments on here and your defence of Holt on another thread suggest that it is time to draw a breath and just cool it a bit. We all want the best for the Canaries but you are a bit blinkered currently IMO.
Not sure we want to go 4-4-2 against Arsenal, JR! Goal difference may well be a factor! Agree with OCF that we have our own fate in our hands and need to keep it that way. If Sunderland and Wigan were to win matches, it could be Villa and Stoke who suffer!
