Hudd got more vocal praise out of me in his time on the pitch than the rest of the team put together for the whole 90 mins. Just so nice to see someone in our midfield actually trying difficult things (and succeeding so assuredly). He really does have a touch of class about him. For the whole time he was on the pitch I just kept thinking "pass it to Hudd" every time someone near him had the ball.

I remember a few years ago saying that the whole team just didn't work as well without him in it.

Not saying that he is genuinely that instrumental (how can I since he's barely played for two/three seasons?) but he really can make a difference. Not exactly the sort of creative midfielder that we desperately need but at least he's not just going to run ten yards with the ball and give a simple pass.

If we can get him playing as well as he has done in the past for Spurs he could really add some new dimensions to our game - which we desperately need right now.

We need goals and we need the ability to open up teams - sounds a bit like a job for Hudd to me!

And imagine asking Ade or Defoe (or even Bale) how they'd feel about having Hudd in the team. Maybe it was just me but Ade definitely seemed to find a higher gear when Hudd came on and nearly put him through the first time. Having someone who can find you if you just make the runs - it just makes such a huge difference.

And it makes a big difference to the fans too - it just felt more exciting once he was on. Felt like something magic could happen. I know I'm over-stating it cos the rest of the team is so pedestrian in attack right now but as a fan I just felt like Hudd was entertaining me in the Spurs tradition AND making us more dangerous. He's the sort of player than any fan just loves to see play well.

Although Caballos is inexperienced, why put him on the bench if he's not shown promise, the only way he'll get experience,is to play,we had nothing to lose by trying him

BTW - I found all those links to be pretty low quality and one or two kept going down. In the end I went for one from Wiziwig which was a Flash player, pretty good quality but need re-loading a couple of times. It was about 600 kbps (?) and the picture was much better than the ones in viplivesports.

But what the hell has happened to all those HD streams I used to find on Wiziwig a few months ago? And what's happened to Sopcast? Does anyone ever get HD (or any) streams via Sopcast nowadays? It used to be so stable and reliable.

Apparently as a means of very last resort.
Because the coaching staff want him playing in the U21s tonight.
Risking both him and Carroll yesterday to injuries when the U21 squad is
getting threadbare, was probably a step too far.

Really disappointed to not win that game. A bad piece of goalkeeping and some good work by Mirallas gave them a lead when they'd barely had a sniff. After that it was always going to be a case of us throwing everything forward and leaving ourselves open at the back and whilst at the end of the game yesterday I felt we deserved to win, looking back with a more level head, I don't think we did. Credit to Everton, a draw was a result that didn't help them at all and they went hunting down the win, sometimes it works and sometimes you get hammered, they took the risks even with the lead and it nearly paid off for them.

From the sounds of it I take it we shouldn't have had a penalty so I won't go on about the ref <laugh> Although him and that woman lino were total ****e :p

As for Spurs, we got some of the reaction I expected, Adebayor spent more time getting in the right positions and we looked to use the flanks better although Holtby fell short of my expectations. Dempsey unfortunately was the same old, same old, I can't even begin to understand how a player who scored 23 goals last season, can have such awful technique when shooting. On the surprising plus side, Walker and Vertonghen had good games down the flank, it's been hard remembering what Walker was like last season but yesterday was a bit of a "oh yeah, that's what he used to do" moment and he even had that howitzer of a shot that really deserved to go top corner than straight at the keeper for how well he struck it. As well as Vertonghen did for most of the game though, I did worry about Caulker, he's a bit like Bassong in that a player who has a bit of pace and skill on the ball will turn him inside out everytime they take him on and that's what happened for the second. Overall defensively we were far from comfortable again, Vertonghen leaves gaps, Dawson teed up Osman(Might've been Gibson), Parker had a good game going forward but didn't break up enough attacks, whilst Lloris did well to prevent their second half chances getting megged for the first was a crucial point in the match and I'm not sure what Caulker was doing, I don't think he won the ball off an Everton player all game.

Cheers for the feedback. Those links now go in the bottom of the toolbox.

There was a problem with SopCast last year. If you didn't join the stream at the start of the game, you couldn't connect at all. I got bitten more than once because I used to quit the "MTV stream" during half time. This has been a reason for the SopCast migration.

There's a Russian SopCast betting stream that still broadcasts in HD (something YES never did, although the quality was still very good). Hopefully they're start broadcasting in English because I ain't learning Russki.

StreamTorrent is very good quality but it doesn't skip frames (unless someone can tell me different?). If you lose 1 frame every second, which is normal, the game lasts an extra 4 minutes. I've watched games that ended up 10 minutes behind the live coverage; completely useless if you like to have a gamble during the game or just like following the match thread on here.

If I could be 100% sure that only not606 Spurs members watched the streams, I'd stream the Sky and ESPN games myself - aint going to happen. I have enough respect for the people who do the difficult task. I'd buy them all a beer if I could.

Yeah - I (re)bookmarked those links when you posted them last week as I'm always wanting a plan B, C, D etc just in case things go tits-up. But Wiziwig still looks like the best of the bunch to me right now. For a start it's just so useful to have the bitrate of each stream listed - if you know of any other sites that do that I'd love to hear it.

BitStream (or StreamTorrent or AceStream) is OK but yesterday, for example, the rate was listed as 1500 or something but picture was terrible. Plus it takes a long time buffering and still is not as stable as Sopcast used to be. I've had some excellent HD streams through it but not in recent weeks and just wondered why Sopcast fell off the map.

Yeah - tell me about gratitude to whoever puts those games up. I live in California now and will be forever indebted to those people who do this. Not to mention the people who post up Match of the Day every week so I still get to download it and watch it on a Saturday night.

If you ever miss a show or can't watch it on iPlayer or whatever go here: http://matchofthedays.com/forum/

They also post up complete games so again - if you miss a Spurs game it's as if some kind soul somewhere in the world has recorded it for you. It's how I'll be watching the Basle game this Thursday.

The internet and all of its many millions of little helpers (including, for example, the moderators on here) - take a bow. I am still as in awe of how fantastic the net is today as I was the very first day I got broadband. I sort of pity anyone who's young enough to not remember days pre-internet. They can have no idea just how massively, massively excellent the net is.

(He says on an internet forum where his incessant need to talk/read about Spurs is basically fed non-stop).

There were a couple of handball shouts that were "you've seen them given" calls, but I can't think of any other penalty area incidents that he could've called.
Sian Massey had a rare poor game, for me. Missed some obvious stuff and made a couple of glaring errors. She's normally very good.

I agree she's normally good. It was the main one where I read that it came off the players shoulder, looked 100% like he'd handled it at the time, must've been the lilywhite tinted beer goggles I'm always wearing :D

Was that Gibson in the first half? Had his hands up, but I think it hit his chest. Looked like a pen to me at first, too. We don't get them though, so I've given up hoping for one.
We're currently -11 in those stakes when compared to Chelsea. They've had nine and conceded one. We've had none and conceded three.
