I agree with most of what you say Norway. But Dai should NOT be banned. In the past I thought he should have been - but events over the last few months have shown that the forum would be a poorer place without him.

It is sometimes good to hear the opposite view -it keeps everyone on their toes!

I tend to agree with your general sentiment but there are limits. In my opinion Dai has reached his. To suggest that Michael Laudrup be sacked is outrageous because there are no grounds whatsoever for this opinion. These posts are disruptive and antagonistic.

I come to this board for relaxation, entertainment, enjoyment and information. I read his posts and become angry and aggressive - NOT what I come here for. Exchange of opinions is the life blood of any forum but Dai's posts on this thread just beggar belief and, in my opinion, are just plainly anti-Swans.

PGF - Thats the exact same view i had ..a couple of months ago! im not for banning him now really , im just dissapointed that he can be so dismissive of Laudrups acheivements, doing it with one of the smallest budgets in the premier league if not thee smallest.

Winding up fellow posters and comparing us with Liverpool who are on a world level is even more pathetic, and liverpool want to steal our players to make themselves better!!

Sorry for such a late reply...

Re Eriksen... it's probably just rumours but...

    - He fits the FSG transfer profile (young, promising, versatile)
    - He refused to extend his contract with Ajax
    - He isn't Real/Barca bound like he thought he was two years ago
    - His agent says there is interest (he would) and Eriksen is being asked about LFC at interviews a fair bit
    - Ajax technical director has said very recently that LFC scouts have been watching Ajax matches heavily.

We could of course be in for Toby Alderweireld - a much better option at centre back than Williams, I feel. Although Williams is a perfect fourth choice, or third if Skrtel leaves.

Rodgers's football was often mind numbingly tedious and lacking in any kind of ambition or attacking intent. Laudrup's isn't.

    Laudrup wins.

Not really. when you look at the resources available to Liverpool and those at Swansea it's a little bit embarrassing that your only a few points ahead of us and west brom. It's foolish to think we in direct competition with a club like Liverpool , the fact you pop in to chew the fat over these issues kind of shows how far the club has fallen, I'm not saying that to be nasty it's the truth and I'm sure you will agree with it.

How far would the swans go with saurez, gerrard, sturidge etc,etc ?

Don't get me wrong here I'm not trying to wum, from what I've seen of Liverpool they are progressing nicely , the wages on offer and the name it's self put you at a different level to Swansea .

Lone Rangel makes a valid point, your where you are not because of Rodgers football but because you have world class in some critical positions bailing you out of trouble, when your threats are nullified like they were against west ham you are indeed mind numbingly boring, surely you agree?

Your fans on various other forums seem to think so even if you don't!

Liverpool are a great club,Rodgers will do well if given the time, Swansea should not be your rival though, your rival should be the likes of man utd, arsenal,Chelsea ,spurs and man city...you are a million miles away from that though arnt you ;)

Norway as usual you are ight about this. It is all about the aspirations of the clubs involved at the start of the season, in relation to what they actually achieve at the end of the season. Yet again we were favourites to go down, Where as Liverpool were still talking 4th and champions league. So in terms of achievement compared to Resources and money available, Laudrup has to come out on top.

Liverpool have been a 1st Division/ PL club and one of the most sucessful cup sides since God was a boy .They're not our rivalies although as nice as it would be to say so , our aspirations should be at the moment be to consolidate PL status .We have I believe a better manager now and we should be grateful for that fact and with him and a few new signings I can only see a postive future for the club.Rodgers is a very good man manger (for certain players , some stronger characters will see through the bullshine though).Whether he can get them into the top 4 positions consistantly remains to be seen .

I think people are reading into the West Ham game too much - we dominated the entire game and could well have won on another day. We were quite average but always looked the superior side.

People should give credit to WHU for what was a brilliant and very committed display - especially from Collins, Demel, Diame and Jarvis - don't think they were anything less than 100% the entire game.

On the table point... I was being devil's advocate haha... I would say that it's purely our fault that we're not 5th/6th now. We've dropped silly points from games we should have won (both City games, United, Everton away, Villa home, West Brom away for instance). But then, maybe that inconsistency is a sign of a lack of quality.

Overall Rodgers is doing fine - another window of decent signings and we'll be stronger again. I'd be very happy with the current rumoured targets - Alderweireld, Eriksen etc. The Coutinho signing has hopefully given Rodgers the confidence to widen his net.

On topic... from the Liverpool side there is pretty much nothing on JDG.

EDIT: If I was a betting man I might go for Laudrup to Chelsea.

Oh I know... will be a stressful summer - he's a player that could be doing great things in the CL.

Confident we'd replace him though, perhaps not with the same quality (is there a player in his mold of the same quality available?) - but with quality.

Don't think Suarez will go anywhere in the summer as he won't get the love he gets at Liverpool anywhere else. I also think most of the reports of Rogers interest in Swansea players is solely press based with little substance. The lazy press are always going to link players between our clubs due to our historical links but mainly because its 'easy juice' for the editor who, honestly, couldn't care less if whats written is total bollox or not, as long as it fills a page.

My take on Liverpool is that currently they are not competitive when Vs the EPL top 5. I'd go as far to include Everton too who have been perennially consistent.

The Manchesters, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs & Everton are currently ahead of Liverpool, although I don't see Spurs maintaining their current position next year or beyond. But I don't see Liverpool taking that place either. The squad is too small and workmanlike to set the world alight. The workmanlike squad typified by Gerrard and with one world class player, Suarez.

For Liverpool succeed again their wild expectations need to be tempered. The future will not give you success just because you earned it in the past. Currently it would seem that all Liverpool are doing to reach success is simply standing on the shoulders of giants and shouting about how great they are. Sorry kopites, your simply not great anymore so instead of floating in the ether of memories, open your eyes and see where you really are.

With eyes open you will see what the rest of the world sees, that Liverpool are a top 10 club, far off the pace of the elite EPL clubs, with Europa league aspirations, a bit like Swansea really, difference between us is that we can see.

Take Suarez from Liverpool, and where does that leave them? A fair amount of points behind us.

I saw the Liverpool v west ham game and there wasnt much in it mate, posession stats as we know all too well mean **** all. And you like us only have ourselves to blame,we should be ahead of you if we had taken all the spunked away points we should have had! thats football though isnt it, it only counts after the final whistle has blown.

I agree rodgers is doing ok, though it seems to me has is just one bad run away from losing the fans, who are fed up of him saying the team was outstanding every time they lose or draw (its always "fantastic "when they win y'see)
