May be an anachronism, Godders, but is effective enough to keep WHU out of real trouble. We are a team looking for a natural rival...suggest that Everton and Spurs should be our targets next season if we want to keep on Cortese's target.
Have WHU changed their style this season, I must admit I haven't been paying attention to them as our situation required maximum concentration, sometimes quality of performance is over ridden by results, or will Spider and Corky be suffering from RSI in the neck as the ball constantly flies back and forth over their head? I assume Caroll couldn't play against Liverpool so his presence was missed?
I hope we play our own game against WHU. Mauricio admitted we played differently against Reading because of their more direct approach (are they long ball?), but then we didn't look that good until we scored (or at least not ourselves).
They're combative, like Bolton used to be. The slick, quick passing triangles of the traditional WHU style, is absent. Ron Greenwood must be spinning in his grave.
If Carroll plays I just hope he doesn't keep throwing himself to the floor cheating the ref like he did at their place.........bloody embarrassing he was.
I quite like how we play. Makes a change. Although I would call it good old fashioned wing play rather than hoofball. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...emier-League-crossers--best-worst-season.html
Hey trixter. We all know Fat Sam won't be around for too long. I thought Di Canio would be option no.1 but he's gone. So who will be the new man to lead you into the Olympic stadium?
This is a good thread looking back. Saints decision to mix some new players in with the great young players that we have is beginning to pay off and could be great in the long term if they stick around. If Villa manage to stay up they may see a similar benefit by sticking with the young uns
It's too simplistic to say West Ham are hoof it merchants under Fat Sam, last season and this. They press you hard all over the pitch (remind you of anyone?) and like to throw bodies forward quickly when they get the chance. He's a gambler, is Allardyce. I don't think West Ham have been crude or predictable with him in charge. And knocking it long to Rickie has worked for us plenty of times.
I doubt Mackay will leave Cardiff either, looks like they're finally going to drag themselves over the line this season.
Look at you lot gaying up my thread just because you've finally put a little run together! Enjoy it. In recent times, lots of little clubs like yourselves have shown promise for a season or so - it doesn't last.
