Like I've said before, I'll only be happy when I see 7-8 race wins to even think of him closing the title door shut.
Hey guys, shame I wasnt about to chat on here over the weekend. Had a wedding to go to on Sat and I was the best man =). Cant wait for monaco. JUST A REMINDER THIS CHAT WILL BE UNSTUCK TOMORROW AND REPLACED WITH THE MONOCO CHAT
I really enjoy the beebs coverage of the f1 and i think they do a fantastic job. However i am beginning to tire of jake humphreys attitude. He is constantly acting all chummy with people who are trying to work hard. I know if i was working hard to meet a deadline or under a pressure, and i had someone ramming a microphone down my throat being all chummy with me. I would tell him to 'go away' in as many words. Prime example asking paul di resta all those questions on the grid. Credit to paul he is a very polite young man and very co-operative, im sure that it is the last thing he wants - 10 mins before a gp to be questioned and interrogated by humphreys. i do respect his enthusiasm but he has to realise his place. 2 funny moments: When DC was questioning the information given to Ted regarding renaults fire - pre qualifying. Ted gunned him down looking DC looking bemused and defeated. I cannot explain this very well but i loved seeing dc's smug face (chin) morph into one of a slapped arse. When humphreys and EJ were talking to Jorje Lorenzo. Jake was interrogating him.. the camera pans over to Lorenzo, and suddenly there is EJ massively invading Lorenzo's personal space - cm's away from the moto gp champions face. Jorge's face was pricelss. Did anyone see this? If EJ jumped on you and invaded your space, would you toss him off? or would you succumb to his gnashing teeth? Other than my qualms regardingt the bbc f1 team (i do massively admire the work they do and generally they do a fantastic job) it was a great GP Who was your driver of they day? Mine was LH, dunno if vettel was pushing hard or had more performance available and just managed Hamilton well. Either way both young men drove exceptional races. But due to the differecne in qually i am inclined to say lewis was driver of the day. Who was your muppet of the day? Massa - i do like the fella but he had a rotten weekend. Maybe he needs to leave the fernando dominated team, but it does lead to the question will he be able to drive for such a competitve team again? I think not. My colleague here insists on chatting f1 with me. Which is great, however he still thinks Jenson Button is world champ and that Michael Schumacher for ferrari. Talking to him is like trying to coerce my wife into taking it up the poo chute. Impossible, frustrasting and pointless. final question when cleaning your allloys, do you wipe front to back or back to front? Who do you think will win the Drivers World |Championship? scrap that. Who will come second?
sorry, just trying to keep singular topics rather than the same thing repplicated in multiple threads like on 606 Welcome to the forum by the way =) Overall though I think the spanish GP has been the dullest race so far but maybe I was expecting more. The DRS was practically a waste of time here as it was in the wrong place and should of been earlier on that corner. But at least we saw Vettel actually earning a race win and having to work hard.
Rival teams will be loving this excellent shot of the F150: http://www.formula1.com/wi/0x0/sutton/2011/d11esp2077.jpg Ferrari will be furious. Best moment on Sunday for me was Alonso's start: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13491424.stm At the moment, my WDC prediction is: 1. Vettel 2. Hamilton I hope it doesn't turn out like that.
Cheers I'm sure Red Bull will make good use of that picture Was gobsmacked when Alonso took the lead, I still had the last laugh on me bro though
That Ferrari pic is brilliant. Not much detail on the underside of the cars these days, if it had been last year with the double diffusers it would've been more important.
That photographer will wake up with a horses head on his pillow before long Good find there, shows how relatively simple the cars are underneath.
Well it was Ferrari's turn seeing as last season teams got a shot of the Mclaren: please log in to view this image And also the Red Bull: please log in to view this image
Interesting report on crash.net about that moment in Q3 when Vettel sat in his car with new tyres on after the Red Bulls had set their times. Vettel and Webber had agreed in Istanbul that, come Barcelona, they would only do one run in Q3 to save tyres. It appears that team management had to step in to stop Vettel going out again.
