Doesn't matter if they come from Orient- they were a team that finished above us after all so taking their players can only be an improvement :emoticon-0105-wink:

I would take all 3, but doubt we will see any of them. Legge has been linked with a few Championship clubs in recent months, Barry Hearn will be difficult to negotiate with and thus prize us out of a move, and I just feel that Le Fondre will move to a Championship club- one of the smaller ones like Palace (ooh err).

His goalscoring record is certainly impressive and I wonder how much he'll cost as he's in the last year of his contract...?

At the right price and with his record he's sure to be snapped up by a club in the Championship, willing to take a punt on him...!!

Izale Mcleod, MK dons to Charlton
    Luke Varney, Crewe to Charlton
    Alan McCormack, Southend to Charlton
    Simon Francis, Southend to Charlton
Stuart Fleetwood, Forest Green to Charlton
Chris Dickson, Dulwich Hamlet to Charlton
Luke Holden, Rhys (?) To Charlton

Most of these arent very strong examples, except varney who went on to blackpool and has done well.

I agree with looking everywhere for some gems, but if we genuinely want to get out of the league soon it means dipping in and buying some class, proven players, otherwise we are here to stay.

I've heard that Le Fondre is useful but very lazy and rates himself highly. Doesn't sound like the sort of player that we need at the moment, although undoubtably he can find the onion bag regularly. This came from a Rotherham fan based down here who sees about a dozen game a season.

A year ago I would have said we need one of Charlie Austin, Le Fondre and Brett Pittman, and I stick by that. All 3 are similar and as Le Fondre is the only one still available, add to the fact the others have continued their goal scoring exploits I think we really need to take a punt on him.

That said, I maintain that a Championship squad looking for survival will probably take a risk on him. Maybe Eastwood would be a more realistic option for us- think he would do a job in this league, out of favor at Cov where I think they will be looking to take him off the payroll as they need to finance the Marlon King deal.

I couldn't give a monkeys if he sat on his arse in the centre circle for 89 mins providing he's averaging a goal every other game.

I want defenders who defend and forwards who score goals... Nothing more!

I work with a Coventry fan and he reckons Freddie Eastwood gets played out wide far too often and that whenever he plays centre forward he's a real threat.

Oz, my post was tongue in cheek, I was using them as examples of players who we signed from lower leagues and played shocking.

As for Le Fondre being lazy, BWP is lazy but managed 20something goals this season.
