I don't really understand the personal dislike that many people seem to have of Alan Pardew.

Many say he's arrogant and slimey (TalkSport's Mark Saggers has utter contempt for him) but I've never felt that even in his other jobs. What do you want, Joe 'Potty Mouth' Kinnear back? Or perhaps the charisma of Glenn Roeder instead?

We don't always get the kind of damning indictment of the team we sometimes feel we should in his interviews but I think he communicates superbly with the media and conducts himself faultlessly.

I judge a manager more on results and so he's had a POOR season but it's great to see some passion from players and managers in this era of anodyne soulless mercenaries.
The guy clearly cares about this football club and I think he's bought into the whole area, the people, everything. He doesn't get it right tactically 100% of the time but apart from Ferguson who does?

I'm sure his antics will be lambasted on Match of the Day... "Should have been sent to the stands, blah, blah, blah, balls."

 

I am not Pardews biggest fan but support him

He's had a poor season..but end of the day he's got us into the Quarter Finals of the Europa League (possibly the Semi's and further?). Brilliant reaction from a guy who obviously gives a damn and is not afraid to show it.

Whether it was an outward pouring of emotion because he's felt under pressure, 100% committment to NUFC or purely because he's a football man, I don't give a sh*t, it was a fantastic moment for him, the team and us.

He's a good bloke and overall has done a sterling job. Tactically he was spot on again yesterday. Some people expect gung ho football all the time but you can't get away with it. He got the balance right in terms making sure we were defensively solid after our European excursions. Hasn't had a great season but he'll have hopefully learnt plenty to help us in the future. Again yesterday his half time team talk got our lads to raise their game, dip into their reserves and get the result we needed.

I keep running a short film in my head of what would have happened had Fat Sam tried a crowd surf in the style of Pardew near the end of his tenure.

It never ends well.
