Me too, but I wouldn't hold your breath and how long will it take the cancers to mutate and not be affected by the medicine?

The drug has not been tested on humans yet, it could 10 years to get to the public, that's my biggest worry.

Exactly, that is the real shame about it. I'm sure a lot of people with cancer just now would happily take their chances on this new drug though and be the human tester.

Cancer is not a virus, it's a growth abnormality within human cells - so it will not mutate to save itself as it is not a separate life form.

But yeah once we get cancer sorted something else will kill us, of that we can be pretty certain <whistle>

It's a foul, unwanted and usually unfair condition. They've finally found a cure for cancer? Really!?

Good point, but you know what I meant mate. More to the point, when I going to get the 50,000 rep points back that I lost when the malware was attacking the site?

10 years and the rest. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but am aware that the big pharma companies make $trillions by selling drugs that extend people's lives by a year or two. None of them will be pushing to wipe out those profits.

As for dying: we're all going to. Cancer is just particularly nasty in that it can strike when you're relatively young. Saw an article in the Daily Mail the other day about a young girl on chemo who was too ill to attend her highschool prom - so the pupils took the prom into the hospital ward. Genuinely bought a tear to my eye and I'm a heartless ****.

I don't want to sound callous, as I know cancer causes incredible suffering for the afflicted and their family, but surely it's just nature's way of keeping the population down?

I have been drinking heavily since 15, smoked weed for over 22 years and enjoy snorting Cocaine most weeks. I live on a diet of take aways and roasts and never exercise...
I am on the front line of high risk lifestyles so these new pills sound good, i don`t take pills from Doctors though..

Cancer has been around for a long, long time, long before smoking and sun beds. It used to be called the "wasting sickness", and would afflict people at random. Obviously you can increase or decrease your chances, but some people are just more susceptible than others I suppose.

I'd be happy for the Bubonic Plague to return if it only affected female Sunderland fans <whistle>

As people have stated it is the fact that it kills so many young people that causes the most trauma.
