Sorry should have made myself clear, a 4th CB not the 4th choice CB, him and Colo would be a good mix

We don't need to replace Simmo. We just need to teach him how to tackle a player instead of running away from them

Ah I get ya! I really rate Bassong like, he was so reliable unlike Taylor/Williamson. At least Tayls has goals to his game and he used to play well at RB so I'd make a new CB quite a high priority. That or a better RB.

That's like saying we just need to teach Ranger how to score goals! We can't wait forever!

I'd have thought either Hutton or Corluka would leave for a guaranteed start, I'd have either of them.

get a decent RB in and i bet his concentration levels improve i think in some positions we don't have enough competition and it's no coincident that the players in those positions sometimes are accused of lack of concentration/interest

Simpson's main problem is backing off players, Colo does the right thing and gets stuck into them before they get into an advanced position, or he gets it right if they already are. This problem can be fixed in training, but if he doesnt stop by this time next year then we should look at other options.

He's had a good couple of seasons to get this right though, he's not a bairn anymore and he hasn't improved at all since last season. I think he's a little lightweight and like I said before, he isn't able to make up for it attacking-wise either. There's just very little to his game imo.

I think he's ok going forward, when playing with an intelligent wide player like Barton he is more effective and a decent crosser. I think when we sort the strikers/wingers/Enrique out, the problem will stand out more and Pardew will focus on it in training. He's been at fault for some goals, but so has everyone; we've conceded 57 this season.

Wouldn't have any objections to him being replaced. I'd rather he learned how to tackle his man, play in position and consistently put good crosses in, but doubt that will happen.
