I think that we will probably limp to safety, but I hate having so much riding on these games that don't even involve norwich.
If Fulham can keep the Toon out, that will also be a decent result for us and not one I was banking on.
That's it in a nutshell. If we stay up (and I am 90% sure we will) then it might be more to do with how badly other teams perform in the run in, unless we can turn draws in to wins in the remaining home games.
You guys do realise that we are never likely to be safe at this point in the season ever. It will be this way there or there abouts every year?
and this is why it is so frustrating, with a few homes win instead of draws we would have been well clear and not having any such thoughts. Those 2 games against Fulham & Newcastle stand out above most others when we didn't really take the game to either of them. 4 points dropped imo and that would be safe this season. In short, we could (arguably should) have been safe (or at least very comfortable) a couple of weeks ago.
BTW - it wasn't 'a knee-jerk reaction' more about Sunderland's luck. They'd the benefit of refereeing decisions against us - they got the penalty we didn't!!! How much more luck will they get. For the record - I also think we'll 'limp over the line' and stay up, but I hope we see a few changes in personnel when we play Reading. Ruddy R Martin, Bassong, Turner, Whittaker Snodgrass, Johnson, Tettey,Pilkington/Fox Kamara, Becchio
Nice to see all the different opinions here. We're all different, that's what posting here is all about, isn't it?
I missed the Bobby Zamora sending off earlier and have just seen it - can't remember the last time I laughed out that loud! What was he thinking?????? Unbelievable challenge
