If they had lost today [bloody Liverpool..!], they would have remained that point behind. When we beat them next week, we'll would have been 4 points ahead with them having their game in hand. Now the best that can be achieved is even points and comparable GDs. Still, more winnable games to go. I'm still confident we'll finish above them. In fact, Fulham, Swansea and West Brom need to watch out as well.

Only watched ten minutes of the Chelsea v Sunderland game but already vastly more impressed by Sunderland, not exactly dominating Chelsea mind, but just so much more pressure on the ball and more pace and life in their attack. Not sure it'll be enough to best Chelsea but this kind of play would stand them in much better stead in their coming games.

Or we beat them on saturday and they lose their game in hand and we remain 3 above them...think positively.

Looks like anyone can get results against Chelsea and Liverpool. We started a rot.

Guess I wouldn't mind a draw between Chelsea and Sunderland. Keeps Sunderland well behind us, threatens to keep Chelsea out of CL (and possibly out of Europe entirely).

Ha..!! Me..? Not think positively..? That's a first..! But I see what you're getting at. Under the scenario I was painting, I was assuming they'd win their game in hand. Of course, they could lose it. Indeed, they could lose their remaining matches, but we'll not go into hyperbola.

Actually I'd rather see Chelsea in the CL than Arsenal sneaking in through the back door.

Ok, this relegation battle is just becoming stupid now. Six teams could be seperated by two points in a couple of hours time. Blooming hell Chelsea!

Lots of pressure on Wigan if Sunderland can hold on.
Our three wins on the spin could not of been timed any better.

I was holding out hope for Tottenham/Everton shocking the world to finish 3/4, but Everton surrendered their lead late and Anichebe missed a one-on-one. Though if one of Chelsea/Arsenal have to make it, I'd actually prefer it to be Arsenal.

Who's worrying? We need about 6 points from 6 games to be completely safe. Easy.

Time was when I actually gave thought to other teams and liked/disliked them. Then, about 25-30 years ago I kind of decided I didn't give a hoot. Media hype just makes me turn even further away. But these last few seasons I've actually taken an irrational dislike to Wenger. I think it's all the Saints player scouting that Arsenal do. It's not that I want Chelsea in there. I just don't want Arsenal.

Lucky we're not scrapping down there anymore! Reckon its Sunderland or Wigan that'll drop.
