Is this what it's come down to...manager swearing whataboutery! I doubt Lennon will have a case to answer, if he does, then they have to charge most managers each week!
If they charge lennon then surely they have to charge charles green for calling people darkies and pakis.
I giggled at this because the logic is (possibly unintentionally) sound. For what it's worth I actually agree with Chuck (I alluded to this agreement in my earlier blitherings on another thread) - and what's even funnier is after I finally found agreement with Chuck the whole of Follow Follow is up in arms calling him a 'racist idiot'
I mean the guy, in his own ineloquent way, is trying to get across the idea that he does not find a person's race important - he is basically saying he cares so little about a person's race that he see's nothing wrong with using a word which might be racist. And in trying to convey this message - which is a good message - he has managed to attract criticism for being a racist Bonkers (both him and the world).
Haven't seen this story but you're saying that Chuck has said that he's so NOT racist that he feels it's OK for him to be racist?
I find it a bit like Ron Atkinson to be honest. I don't think either are racist but used outdated and outmoded terminology "owned" by racists. I don't think it is acceptable to use those terms. I don't think he is racist.... Although I might do for the craic.
Let's be honest, I think we all knew Chuck was the sort of guy who would say Paki and Darkie, he says what he likes and he likes what he says.
In context their is **** all wrong with what he said. However in today s mock outrage world it was stupid.
