On the plus side I put Lowton in my FF team for this week(usually benched) and as Bale's injured Benteke will be captain and got a goal
I was going to follow the tip of Dale Tempest (Skybet) for an outsider Auroras Encore at 66-1. It won. I never got round to putting that £10 on it
What the hell was Clarke thinking with that decision? Arsenal always struggle against physically imposing strikers, as he would have witness during his time at Stamford Bridge. Stupid Chelsea bellend.
The real reason why WBA lost is because that prize Berkshire Hunt Mulumbu got a stupid red card at West Ham. When he and Yacob play together WBA are top half, when they don't play WBA are bottom half, not surprised Arsenal carved them open. Starting to believe me about Stoke now? 5 losses from 6 and Man U at home and QPR away are their next 2 games. Don't see where their next win is coming from.
It's a proven stat Arsenal do better against the bottom half than Chelsea and Spurs. If Arsenal had more games against the likes of us, City and United then I'd be more confident of them dropping points. City away aside (where we didn't turn up but still should have taken a lead), I can't think of one occasion whereby any top half team has outplayed us in a game of football. We do better against the bigger sides when Benitez doesn't try any of his rotation bollocks and just plays the best team available, it's against the bottom half when Benitez pays them no respect where we lose points.
So basically, whilst you don't expect Arsenal to drop many points in the run in, you also don't think Chelsea will as they will raise their game with a tougher run in. I'll ask again, where's the advantage?
Not unless Sunderland suddenly improved massively under Di Canio, starting with a win tomorrow... They've been absolutely awful recently.
This is getting circular but surely if Arsenal perform better against the bottom half teams than top? Then they have ad advantage as they are playing more bottom half teams?
They've got their cup final at Newcastle next week, If Di Canio can win there he will start to win over some his critics. Mata and Hazard are both starting tomorrow and Oscar probably will too, I'm not one to be overconfident but can't see how we will lose with them all in the side, then again, this is Chelsea we're talking about, a side that can beat Man U (1st) at home twice yet lose at home to joint bottom of the league, QPR
They play 4 bottom half clubs whilst you play 5 top 7 clubs. You're right, this is getting boring. I just don't know why you're so sure that they'll finish in the top 4, even your reasoning doesn't stack up. As I said, they're in this position along with us 2 because we're not consistent enough, we've all dropped points against teams across the league. I prefer to sit back and try to enjoy the nerve-racking ride rather than keep making predictions, it's very finely balanced as it stands. Had West Brom put away one of their numerous chances at the end of the game, Arsenal would lose some momentum but should either of us drop points tomorrow they gain an advantage and that's likely how it will continue for some weeks until a team falls off the pace or the season ends.
I hate to say this but Arsenal are looking like they are more interested in winning their games than us at the mo! I do hope SOMEONE in our team tomorrow will remember where the goal is and not succumb to another of those 0-1 things we seem to do so well for the opposition!!!! COYS!
Our problem is what it has been for about the last three seasons - we have the most incompetent strikers in the Division. If we don't finish 4th, we can all blame Levy. it's not as though he's had fair warning of the problem. I certainly won't be blaming AVB. He's done more than enough to finally convince me that he knows what he's doing. Sure, he doesn't really have much of a plan B in games, but that's down to the fact that he doesn't have a single competent striker to rely on, so that's hardly his fault.
I actually hope AVB wins nothing this season because if he does there will be more pressure on him next season to win something again whereas if he gives us top five in his first season then that's ok and there's less pressure on him for next season. Let's not forget that this is his first full season in the PL and for us and one of the hardest jobs in football. All we need is a strike force and a defence that needs a good bollocking to get them going. Our two goals were lucky on Thursday sadly and with their good defenders coming back we'll be hard pressed to continue any farther but AVB has still done well in the Europa. Let's not expect too much of the young lad in his first season with us. Any win will do us for tomorrow and Everton have been struggling a bit away from home. They only beat Stoke 1-0 at home and Stoke were thrashed today by Villa at home. I'm a bit gloomy about our prospects now as Arsenal and Chelsea seem to be coming on although Utd have been below par just recently. Good to be back lads.
Err... Yeah about that... Good to see you are well. Well we've progressed in the cups but that's about it.
Yes,you just scraped through against an off form Man U but well done I suppose. I posted at the start of the season that big money signings between English clubs don't work and I thought RVP to Utd a mistake. At first he did well but now I think we might be seeing him move on sometime soon.
I hoped you might give us more credit. We outplayed Man U twice. I think Rooney will be the one making way
