I posted elsewhere that my in laws are from Wigan and season ticket holders there. I have of course larged it up all week that they'd be at St Mary's next year... oops.

I can't recall EVER having played Wigan...anyone confirm that?

    Thanks for that. Useful site.

I'll just be emailing the in laws with the 100% record quote!

Looks like you are right apart from that cup game. They didn't reach the Football League until after we had started our long Div 1/Premiership stint and crossed past us in 2005. Maybe we will cross past them on the way back.

My Mrs will be looking for you! I lived there for 5 years (hence Mrs Wigan), and it is funny as I was dragged along to watch the egg chasers playing in front of 15,000 people and then went along to watch the footy in front to about 6,000.

They are very welcoming though as both egg chasers and footy fans have just the one song......."Wigan, Wigan, Wigan, Wigan, Wigan, Wigan, Wigan"

Fortunately we moved back further south when my lad was only 18 months old, so no accent and the danger of drifting over to the rugby dark side hasd evapourated.
