Perhaps because the local BBC expect that people who were interested would actually be at the match?

But that's the point, population has nothing to do with it. This isn't ITV, we all pay the same and the BBC is meant to be about equality and quality, not ratings.

Of course population has something to do with it.

The BBC obviously think that 600,000 people don't deserve their own radio station, so inflict all sorts of irrelevant **** upon us. Lincolnshire only have one league team, yet it's match commentary's are not on Radio Linconshire(who serve 840,000 residents of Lincolnshire), instead they're broadcast on Radio Humberside, so 600,000 East Yorkshire residents have to tolerate irrelevant ****e, just so that the 70,000 residents of Scunthorpe can get an FM match commentary.

It's bollocks, BBC Radio Tees serves 470,000 residents, but don't have to also broadcast traffic reports and match commentaries for York and Scarborough.

The away team gets FM. Its been the way more or less of years now. To be fair AM is poor on the south bank but works far better this side. Dont see the problem myself other than most folks no longer have a portable device with AM anymore.

Why dont Blunderside also do commentary on Brid Town or North Ferriby United????? Both are in non-league like Grimsby. There were as many at the Brid Town v Scarborough match last week as there are at some of the Blue Square League fixtures Grimsby play.:laugh:

RH existence makes no real sense at all . At no extra cost and no loss in relevance to the listeners , The South bank should be served by R.Lincs and the Northbank renamed to ERiding or EYorks radio /

As things stand Humberside broadcasts to hundreds of acres of Estuary , a perfectly natural barrier that most counties dont have privilege of

Unfortunatly not everyone who is interested can afford to go to the match due to financial constraints, hence the lower ****ing attendances at the KC.

the key is in the word 'Humberside'. The BBC hierachy in London gave us a regional identity that nobody can identify with. I wonder what would happen if those in London decided to combine Radios Merseyside and Manchester? Seems as sensible as creating this moronic Humberside entity where I can listen to news about Hunstanton but I am restricted on listening to stuff about York (20 miles from me with a white rose on a blue background at its helm)

The ITV transmitters are even worse.

The BBC radio and their TV ones are not located in the same place.

Why are the transmitters located where they are?

Location as regards height (but also not to far from the areas they serve) was the traditional reason.

Who had post #28 on the "When will mussie get involved in a thread with Humberside in the title" sweeps?

I was shooting for first 10, maybe even 5.

Either way, I'm glad this issue is finally being discussed.
