it will be very interesting to see just how we do with Fahti involved instead of Jnr.
And if Jnr will replace Fahti in the few remaining games left to play when he has recovered.

Faye played every game earlier in the season didn't he? Like the first 10 games or so I'd guess. So he should be able to manage 3 games in a week. In fact having had a rest for half the season while the likes of Chester, Hobbs and Bruce were playing every game he's probably fresher than most.

He can play games in quick succession - he played 90 mins (and scored) against both Millwall and Leeds in the space of 3 days.

Steve said he pulled his calf on RH, and he came back to the dugout on crutches.

Alex has been solid this season. You can question his passing ability, but you can't remotely question his efforts in defence.

He has stuck his head in to so many opposition boots this season, i'm surprised he hasn't been out more often. He has done a good job for us this season, very capable defender at this level.

I actually thought that Alex Bruce as good as won us the game today cos we would never have won if we hadn't gone 4 4 2. It needed changing and it wouldn't have happened under normal circumstances

    Also, i'd probably go:

    Stockdale
    Rosie Chester Faye Brady
    Elmo Quinn Meyler Fathi
    --------Boyd----------
    -------Striker----------

Perhaps a little harsh on Evans, who I think did a low-key but good job today, constantly open for a pass making sure we kept possession, and coming in for a few tackles to break up play. So, maybe Quinn to play on the left rather than Fathi, but depends how confident Fathi/Elmo is playing on the left wing.

I reckon this is a slight improvement:

    Stockdale
    Fathi Chester Faye Rosie
    Elmo Meyler Quinn Brady
    --------Boyd----------
    -------Striker----------

I cant see the team Saturday being anything but:

    Stockdale
    Rosie Chester Faye Brady
    Elmo Koren Meyler Quinn
    Boyd Gedo/Simpson

I agree they did look better with 4-4-2 But I think it was more to do with the subs than the formation. Bruce looked very panicky at times and I think some of the players saw that. Rosie and Simmo gave the rest of the lads a bit of confidence.

I'd say it's very unlikely that SB would pick Koren as one of his central duo in a 4-4-2, though.

Unless Meyler's told to be cautious with his bursts forward and focus on helping out the defence a bit more possibly? Depends if Bruce thinks he can do that...

Well said Craig.. some mongs on here think Bruce Jnr picks himself.. utter crap.. he plays where he has to.. I doubt he'd choose to play DF.. He's a very capable CB too.. we'll revert 4-4-2 and Rosenior was a big plus today so Fathi won't be picked for fullback unless we have another injury and Fahti is cover for both sides..

Why do some "fans" need to have a scapegoat? Bruce Jnr is the modern day Mally Lord..

He has without a doubt and not as bad as some would have you think in midfield either. If his season is over with then we still have Rosie and Fathi who can play in the defence so its not all gloom and doom. AB has had a very good season overall. Fact.

He left him there today, and Quinn was tucked in on the left, not playing as an out and out left winger. I'd probably put Evans in for Koren if I was picking the team but I think he'll play Koren there.

He was hobbling round the stadium when he came off and had two men helping him round.
