Anyone else got that little extra spring in their step this morning, thought you might.

Look, our very bitter friends from up the road, well the ones who keep coming on here telling us how they don’t care, need to learn a thing or two. Remember our dark days throughout the season, the dancing men, the 5-1 taunts, did we take it, yes we did, can they take it, can they ****.

I know and so do you that we have problems, we had them before kick off yesterday and we still have them, they need fixing and Bruce needs to get it right, we all know that. But yesterday and the way results worked out just make the season that bit more bearable and the summer break that bit more enjoyable, we can look ahead with a smile on our face.

What really makes it all extra special is that with a few minutes to go I was happy with the win and resigned to finishing 12th and below Newcastle. Resigned to a few weeks of dancing men, gloating and in our shadow posts. I was watching sky and had the three games option on with the results and as it stands table rotating. Suddenly the table showed us 10th and Newcastle 12th, what the **** I shouted out loud, then the results came up.

Within the blink of an eye everything had changed, I still cant get the smile of my face.

    Thank you WBA..

No iv'e got a stinking headache, to much celebrating or maybe just to much sun.

Even better as i was out with some geordie mates, ****ers always wear their tops everywhere we go. They are mad supporters like, so give them that, but it sometimes backfires on them, just wish we could win a derby match..

But im happy, and they were gutted, oh well

Spot on mate. They can dish it out but cant take it back. Its what marks us out as very special fans over and above our 'lower placed' cousins up the road.

I am not convinced by Bruce at all and this 10th spot has papered over some huge cracks but hey, I'll happily revel in the knowledge that despite taking only 4 points from a possible 42 (which is a pathetic effort) in the latter half of the campaign, the daft lads from NE1 still couldnt take top spot for the region.

Bruce still has a helluva job convincing me he can move on from the two collapses, two years in a row, to make us a REAL top 10 club but to be fair to him he was told to get us top 10 and did so even if it was in bizarre circumstances.

Big close season and a massive 3rd year for him and if at the end of it I am proved to be wrong, trust me no-one will be more delighted than this particular poster.

    Syd

I honestly cannot see what all the celebration is about. Think back to your opinion of your club and Newcastle at the start of the season, and how you thought that the two clubs would fare.

Can you honestly say that you should be celebrating the fact that you finished 1 point above us, having had to suffer the humiliation at the derbies?

If it was the other way around, and we were the established Premiership club and you were in our position, I would be embarrassed about the derbies and thoroughly pissed off that the clubs were so close in their league positions.

Are you mentaly challenged? Are the simple cells that make up your cerebral cortex made in China?

Reading the debate amongst Sunderland fans for the past 4 or 5 weeks, would leave Stevie Wonder in no doubt about the level of our disappointment in the season and of course the derby games were dreadful (the post at the time AGAIN showed that) but what is clearly avoiding your gaze is the fact that despite our injuries, depite losing on of the top pound for pound strikers in Europe (and dont even begin to compare Bent and Caroll for ****s sake); despite our record of only 1 win in 11 games (or, 4 points from 42); despite all that we are still the top club in the NE.

What you should be concerned about is had we not had so many key personnel out; had we not sold Bent ( a proven 20 goals a season striker for the last 5 years); had we not had the most appauling run in nthe EPL this season we would have been so far out of sight you'd have all needed a telescope on Doomside to see us.

That set of scenarios is very unlikely to repeat itself again next year and if we can get our walking wounded back, add to the squad and bring in another 2 strikers, noocarsel will be light-years away from being the top NE club again next season. We have been totally ****e at times this season and yet we are STILL the top club.

How ****ing ****e does that make your lot?

I'd have a very long hard think about that daft lad before you come back spouting drivel on our boards.

Oh dear, so many "if this had happened, if that had not happened."

"had we not had the most appauling run in nthe EPL this season"

**** happens, get over it and stop with all the whining excuses.

You managed to finish a mere 1 point ahead of a newly promoted club with no money to spend, whilst being totally humiliated in the derbies, and you celebrate as if you had achieved something!! it's absolutely laughable.

I see that you still have not learned. Last August you made similar boasts about being light years ahead of us.

I have really enjoyed laughing at you this morning Cest, you are an embarressment to your club and to your fellow Mackems. Unfortunately I have to drive to Reading now, but thank you for brightening up what would have been a boring morning without your inane and childish ramblings.

Simon, I like and rspect you but come on, I think my OP makes it clear why we are so happy and I know from previous exchanges with you that one thing you aint is daft.

Do I say we have had a fantastic season or we started with one aim, to be above you, no. Crap 5 months, accepting a 12th place finish then in a few minutes it all changed and happiness and relief came.

In all serious if you dont understand then you are not a Northeast footy fan.

You summed it all up in the OP when you used the words "very bitter". Can't believe the level of bitterness from them - they are obviously in denial. Shame.

Went to work this morning in Chavlington a very happy man, however I was saddened to see the usually happy smiley faces of my barcode workmates had changed to the look of a man who had been sucking lemons all night soaked in vinegar. They have been biting all morning and their only comeback being you are just happy to finish above us, I had no answer to that F*** yes I'm happy you halfwits.
