Credit to Reading, Nigel's revived their playbook from the Championship fixtures, pressing us at every opportunity. We dish it better than we take it, it seems.
I'm baffled as to why the penalty appeal has been replayed so many times, you could see live and straight away on the replays that he got the ball. Shaw doesn't look right to me at the moment, he seems to in general have a very relaxed and laid-back approach to the game but when Reading have the ball he seems to be barely breaking out of a light stroll and Reading seem to be entirely attacking down his side.
There's no doubt Reading have been much better for the first half hour and probably deserve to be ahead. Or possibly it's that some of our defending deserves to have been punished. Hopefully Adkins has taken the "dominate early, fail to score and then concede one just before half time" curse with him.
"It is one of those moments as Reading fan when you think the ball fell to the right man. It fell to his wrong foot and he ballooned it... You cannot turn down those opportunities. "It was a comedy of errors at the back from Southampton. Yet again, Jos Hooiveld was to blame and, for me, he is not Premier League quality." Martin Keown on Jos
Get in! Quinn now has another incident to talk about, close to putting the tv on mute. Can see him in the commentary box with his Reading shirt on.
