Imagine the scenario... Earlier in the season we had lost one nil at Watford... So going into Tuesday's game we were one two points behind. Then on Tuesday we beat them 2-1, putting us one point ahead of Watford with 6 games left.... Would the feeling on this board be different? Same games left... same position in league... same one point in front. Get behind the lads! Let em know how much WE want it tomorrow.
You're a female, you have no valid opinion Okay, only joking :> That is true indeed, it's the fact we blew a 4 point lead though and mentally their boosted but i agree we are still second it is in our hands Lets beat boro with a good win and hope cardiff do the southern twats over
Don't try to enlighten us. When the chips are down city fans just want to wallow in self pity. You should know that by now.
I'm OK with our position, the main thing to do is to stay off here immediately after a defeat to avoid the end of the world knee-jerking, especially the threads blaming certain players for our dire second in the league position
I don't get your point. At this point in the season it doesn't matter where the points come from as long as there's enough of them to get us over the line. You're right about getting behind the team, but you'll find that people do it in the strangest ways on here including slagging them off on youtube.
The point I was trying to make is that had we lost earlier in the season and won on Tuesday the feeling would be more in line with supporters of a team that is second in the league. I agree that it doesnt matter where the points come from. I was just offering my thoughts on whats been up to now a hugely enjoyable season.
I see your point but it shouldn't matter either way. The specifics of some people's negativity to certain players is bizarre after a defeat, as it happens every time we lose. We won't win every game. Alex Bruce is getting the early Ashbee treatment at the moment and I think most of it's really unfair on him. The nepotism claims are just ridiculous. How absorbed and unstable must some of the moaners be to get to that point straight after a 1-0 defeat? In the case against Watford surely it's more the strikers at fault if anybody, squandering chances? There's always scapegoats with us. Alarmingly Koren's quickly becoming one as well! That being said, I'd like to see what Fathi's made of for at least 60 minutes seeing as he's here and not playing.
Why is it so hard for some of you to just admit it to yourself? This wasn't just any win or loss. This was a six pointer, that swung massively in their favour. They were playin **** before we lost to them. Momentum is real people and you need to get the **** used to it.
Fair enough. I've also enjoyed this season more than most I can remember, but I just hope it has a happy ending because sometimes getting so close and not making it is worse than mid-table obscurity or fighting the drop and just surviving.
If you take your head out your arse and realise, i never questioned the idea of momentum. The fact is, i'd rather be in out position, than in there's. Wouldn't you?
Nah he's rather be in Bristol's position. Can you imagine how that would make him feel?? Rest of us will just keep looking forward, win today, Watford lose, we're back to 4 points clear, we both draw, we stay the same, they win, we lo....well you get the picture. It's in our own hands, well the players hands. Ok their feet, maybe heads. Until its mathematically not possible for us to be 1st or 2nd then I'll start thinking about Play Offs. Its not over til the end of the season.
The op makes sense if you look at it from a different perspective. Being beaten by Watford on Tuesday in reality only cancels out our win against them.
