Come on Sluds stay in the Europey. And awful to say it but come on Steaua. Can't see fatso managing three fronts well. He is already whining
funny really the people saying spurs are a one man team and also the people who are saying bale is overrated
We're the same with Mata though. Is being a one man team a bad thing? Having a standout player way above the rest of the league?
"One man team" is very unfair, at times last night it looked like we had 6, maybe even 7 players on the pitch.
There's no doubting that Bale is our most influential player. It's not only the skill and craft that he brings to the field, but also the effect he has on other players, and the confidence he instills in them. But to say that we are a one-man team is unfair to the likes of Parker and Lennon. The former worked very hard, last night, to try to stem the tide, and the latter made an incredible difference when he came on, giving up the pace and width that we had been lacking all match. When Lennon came on, we suddenly had a spate of chances on goal, which had been sorely lacking up to that point. Lennon is a very underrated player.
Parker is the equivalent of the school bully whose only job is to hurt the nearest opponent. Has the passing vision of a slug and plays everything backwards or sideways. As for Lennon its probably fairer we said nothing as he is a non entity in footballing terms.
Have to say, completely disagree. Lennon is another of those SWP, Walcott (at least until this season) types who shouldn't be anywhere near an England team. Just because someone has a bit of pace doesn't make them a good footballer. Take away the speed and Lennon would be a championship player at best. Parker does a job but he is nowhere near as effective when he doesn't have a player like Modric to give the ball to. Parker is seeing far too much of the ball in Spurs' midfield at the moment. Spurs have other very good footballers; Dembele and Vertonghen for instance but a side challenging for top 4 shouldn't have one player that stands out that much. As soon as he's injures, suspended or form drops, it's hard to make up the difference.
Pity those underrated players look so outclassed when Bale's not in the team. People say one man team and rightly so because you'd be nowhere near 4th without him, more like 14th No one can deny you don't have some other good players, Spurs do, excellent keeper and Demebele is a beast, but neither could prevent you falling down the table so fast you'd smash through the floor of the premiership and into the earth and end up on the other side of the world playing in the Australian league You're right about Lennon. Real will be in for him this summer if they can fight off Barca and Bayern Without his pace lennon would be a training cone.
Not sure. It happened with nobody near him so probably bad. Definitely bad knowing the luck with injuries at the moment. Looked like hamstring so may be a while. I hate the Europe league now. Because of this game now were likely to be straight back into it next season as well. Oh well enjoy the cl.
