Connectivity 4th - pays a decent enough return.
Jetson 2nd - that surely is his handicap chance gone. He'll have to go up again.

Connectivity will have his day. Lost his place when the taps were turned on 3 out, but ran on really well without any chance of catching the leaders <ok>

That's me done - got to complete the competition scoring (embarassingly, I may be leading it  )

    TWO questions

    1) How easy did Zarkandar win?
    2) What the **** happened to Conti?

If the questions aren't rhetorical ....

Zarkandar won in a battle of guts with The New One, experience over enthusiasm, Zark just never knows when to give in.

SC clouted the 4 or 5th last badly, but I'm not convinced it affected him that much as he was still in contention until the last.

Yep horrific day here also, dodged a bit of a bullet as I half talked myself into piling into Silviniaco Conti when he briefly hit 11/10, but pulled the plug when he went back into evens thankfully.

I can't remember who called Zarkandar a plodder but if you keep up with The New One in a finish you are certainly not that. I think he's just lazy, and no horse I've seen so far will beat him in an eye to eye battle finish.

Reebs you were stood with me when we watched the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham, I backed him on that occasion, and I'm embarrassed that I deserted him today, but you kept the faith well done mate.

Conti was disappointing, but has been on the go since October, and rightly or wrongly I'm going to forgive the run today and look forward to what he can do next season. He certainly ran like a horse who was ready to be turned out for the summer IMO. First Lieutenant has been part of the strongest formline this season through Tidal Bay, Sir Des Champs and Bobs Worth, so I'm glad he picked up the race he deserved.

Am in attendance at Aintree tomorrow, hoping for a much better day!

I wouldn't say THAT cosily George - but he stuck his neck out and defied anyone to get past him!

Like Joe says he handed a racing lesson to The New One, who MAY have had the legs if he was fresh, but on this occasion the pupil clearly couldn't catch the master :)

George, Ruby took the race from the beginning really. No one wanted to make the running so he took it up. Slowly wound it up, as he can, and took the sting out of the finish from his rivals... The New One offered some resistance but ultimately couldn't get past when jumping the last... A great ride from Ruby, and realistically he stole it from the others... Thousand Stars made 3rd after trying to get up to Zarkandar and Oscar Whisky was poor for me...

S Conte's race was run for me after he went through the top of a fence, about 3 out, but to be honest First Leiutenant looked good imo with 2 to go, and got up near the end quiet comfortably for me. Menorah ran a good race but didnt have anything near the finish...

A bit of a simplistic write up, but im sure you will catch up with the race soon...<cheers>

To be honest, and i don't know what the rest of the lads think, but i don't think Ruby got him settled early on, so maybe the clipped fence/error just made him worse for the finish...

He certainly had a chance 2 out if he could have picked up, but he just couldn't do it... And its not like he was trying to get up the hill at Cheltenham...!!!
