We'll need a trip to wembley to do so imo. Which is pretty daft considering our position. I am behind the team! Possibly more than some and that's why tuesday hurt so much for me. I am just saying, we all know how city go about things right? Beating boro this saturday SHOULD be a given on their current form. But city doesn't do "should"...
Cardiff City will be busting a gut to WIN @ Watford on saturday imo, so that they can Confirm promotion on tuesday when they play the game in hand on us @ home to Barnsley and win that one. 84 pts and out of reach from Watford. I am expecting Hull City to be on 74 pts and Watford still on 70 pts come 8pm saturday night. Come U 'Ull.
Lost the last two home games and i missed boyds vs forest since i was in the queue for a pint not seen a goal for too long
I'd go with Stockdale Chester Faye Bruce Elmo Koren Evans Quinn Brady Boyd Gedo SUBS Jak Rosenior Dawson Cairney Faithi Proschwitz Simpson I didn't realise we are so short if players.
Hobbs' injury is a blow but it simplifies the selection. The back 3 becomes Chester, Faye, Bruce and Evans is the only realistic option for the base of midfield. Quinn has to come in, the wing-backs pick themselves, Boyd has to play so the only debate is which two to play from Gedo, Koren and Simpson.
It's really disappointing how TC hasn't pushed himself enough to get in the team. If we were unlucky enough to injuries to one or two more key players we'd be in trouble
I'm not sure what more he can have done on a matchday to be honest. He's scored and got an assist on his two starts, and I reckon he's not played longer than 20 minutes in the games he's come on as sub. He's scored goals for the reserves whenever he's played for them too. It's no secret I like Cairney and I'd have him in the team in a flash at the moment just to calm things down when we have the ball, instead of us passing it about like its a hot potato. Agree on the injuries though, wonder if SB regrets letting so many players go out on loan, especially the experienced ones.
Agreed, but on the first part I don't blame TC really. He always seems to do well when he plays IMO and then finds himself out of the team for one reason or another.
At least with the terrible news of Hobbs' injury comes the good news that Bruce Jnr won't be playing in midfield any longer. Based on the latest team news, I expect Bruce to go with: Stockdale Chester Faye Bruce Elmo Quinn Evans Koren Brady Boyd Simpson If I was the manager, I would be tempted to drop Koren after an especially poor performance against Watford and a sub-standard season as a whole. However, I for one can't see Bruce dropping him for either Cairney or Fathi.
I would rather have TC playing than Evans but he obviously hasn't done enough to cement a place or be first sub. I trust Bruce's judgement.
Tom Cairney hasn't done enough for 1st team football in 4/5 years under 4 different managers... I think some of you need to get the hint.
He came on briefly in a home game not long after signing. I thought his range of passing and energy was excellent, not a full game granted, but he did look a decent larker.
