Regards "big names" and Eriksen, Bluff.

I wouldnt worry too much,Ajax have admitted we have scouted him relentlessly the last few months, theres no point in that if you dont want him

Can see us signing Eriksen and Gameiro ( who wudda signed in Jan on loan but PSG wouldnt let him go, he wanted to come )

Ya, did you see Eriksens comment on our interest? " Not a bad club" <laugh> Thanks dude. <ok>

Ya, would like the spine to be added to CB,CDM,CAM,FW/SS/LW/RW again as many say depends on who we sell or keep. Also with the AM spot, still would love to see Suso come through but am worried about the work rate, John Aldridge did an interview the other day and basically said he has all the talent in the world but needs to work harder and mentally be tougher.

  3. We shouldn't only buy two based on wanting to see existing players get game time. These players are professionals and should be working hard to become the best they can be. Cream always raises...

If players are available, whether it be one or eleven, we should get them as long as they fit within two criteria areas: (a) we can afford them and (b) they improve the team.

  4. I find this worrying, it is like they are attempting to drum up interest from elsewhere to start a bidding war.

This is why I am also thinking the way I am. Can we afford 4-5 players that will improve the team? No quite simply, if we buy 4 players on our budget then each one will be a risk. Buy two players with that same budget and the risk is reduced. Doesn't always work that way I know but I see enough potential in the squad for me to think yes give them a chance, let them play, they will get better.

    well... it all depends.

I think everything is a risk.

look at borini. everyone must have seen he was a big risk being young and inexperienced... but then look at sturridge and he was a different risk, he had a bit of a history of injuries at Chelsea and fell out with dimatteo... then coutinho is a big risk.

all were what i'd call cheap today. 8mil to 12mil...

then you go talk about henderson or donwing or whomever. so you have to come to the point where you say... ok the unforeseen can happen, RVP could have been hit by a bus or a CB breaks his leg on day one but aside form that there was not a safer 20million invested.

Now extend that logic to some of these guys. Suarez was an absolute no brainer for every piece of evidence, but him on his own was a risk cos we all saw his history of trouble. This is why again andy carroll was the craziest piece of nonsense ever done. Now think eriksson, hey buying him should be a fairly low risk cos he's jsut that good... but do you offset him with alonso... do you pick between the two?

I just think the line by gerrez is fine. if the price is right and it improves us do it. the more quality you have the better. Buy two cbs.. no problem, the harsh reality is someone suffers but the team and performances don't... what the hell if kelly gets tossed on the heap cos frankly if we buy two top cbs the fans won't complain.

same for midfield. while i might be an ardent Henderson supporter for us if we got Alonso and eriksson i won't cry when he gets shoved out.

Its hard but I don't give a bollocks about any player especially on the money they are on, just imprve the side and get on with it.

Agreed. There is no room for sentiment here so....we can sell Allen then right? A squad with midfielders of Lucas, Alonso, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, A N Other (Eriksen for example) and the reserves/younger players such as Suso and Sterling looks pretty damn tasty to me. That means we could bring in two and offset part of that cost by ****ing off Allen, Shelvey and Spearing.

I await the inevitable barracking from the Welsh boys <whistle>
