Sorry, I've not read through the 100+ posts and I'm sure there will have have been reference to this, but please don't forget the cracking job the Reading manager did for you. His sacking was ridiculous. If there was a CL place for managers, he'd be up there in the top four with SAF, Laudrup & Clarke this season. Two seasons ago you were playing Yeovil and Walsall. Don't ever forget.
Harsh = Yes Unexpected = Yes Upsetting = Yes Ridiculous = Probably not Will I be forgetting what Adkins did for our club = Not a chance
Don't be silly he's the Newcastle manager, pretty sure it was McDermott. Southampton legend, we miss you Brian.
GUYS THIS IS SILLY. Clearly he's referring to the only true Southampton FC hero, Harry Redknapp. Love you Harry x
hopefully not to long to wait then . This case in reply to DTLW comment that Boruc is waiting on our PL survival before signing a new contract . Just realised I didn't. quote him .......
A Man Utd fan that doesn't understand modern day football? Go and slate the Chelsea board or Man City board or tell the Tottenham board that Harry should still be there or the Arsenal board that Wenger should be ditched etc. When SAF eventually retires how patient do you think your board will be with future managers? What minimum requirement will there be? Adkins IS a Saints legend. We will never forget however Saints were here long before we'd heard of Adkins and will be here for a long time yet. Our CEO makes decisions for the club's benefit not for his conscience's benefit.
Oh gosh, have we got over the disappointment too soon for polite society..? We shouldn't be allowed out. No really..!
I have only two concerns for this game: 1. Adkins will have Reading launching high diaganol balls to the far post on Clyne's side to someone like Robson Kanu. He knows this has worked before and I hope we are ready for this. 2. IF we don't get the win that I believe we will get, those on here who haven't really accepted the decision to move Nigel on, will be posting through snivelling handkerchiefs all next week; I don't think I could stomach that.
Just watched the Man City highlights again (well, you need a pick-me-up some mornings) and we certainly give other teams chances. This means we cannot predict certain bankers...a slip or anything can lead to lost points (see late equaliser at Wigan or QPR's win). We are rarely going to keep clean sheets...we still have the 'score one more than you' style. I think we will score one or two more than Reading. I am getting more relaxed...I was not even anxious about Chelsea....I thought we would probably lose, but knew we had enough to get sufficient points off the other teams. We may lose and we may sink a few spots, but I'm sure most fans have seen enough since MP arrived to be more sanguine about the odd loss.
I didn't think Robson-Kanu was particularly known for his aerial ability? Pogrebnyak on the other hand...
