    vdv was a deal that fell though with bayern. they wanted shut and might have held on for too long as it was.

    I think with alonso its all about the replacement/ strategy. sure they could hold on for a year or not. it was interesting that ballague came out with what he did... THOUGH he didn't mention a word about real's attitude. it suggests he thinks its possible but really hasn't a clue as to the thinking.

    I think personally they got their money of him with their cup and league and this season they look in with a shout for euro glory too.... win all three and i guess the guy has paid his fee and then some. alonso is key to balance of their team and mourinho never gives him a scrap of credit... funny how he sent fat frank out to injure alonso eh? must secretly resent the hell out of alonso and us for ruining his streak of CLs with clubs... mind you now he only goes for clubs with an actual chance of winning it so that rule utd out of the running ;)

    I really doubt Barca would let go one of their biggest prospects, atleast not without a buy back clause included, which would pretty much make the deal l like a loan. I'd rather have Eriksen.

    He is brilliant. He deserves more than a bit part role. He's probably earmarked as Xavi's long term replacement though so I can't see him leaving anytime soon. Possibly on loan or a transfer with a buy back clause, as Micah says.
