Hi, I use WFC FORUMS a lot, we are trying to make sure that we get a good crowd v Cardiff to move, to The Vic Rd End, that is people that love the away days more because of singing. We need a good atmosphere at The Vic, more so for these big games coming up. So I guess I'm just asking that if you like to sing, be bold and move your ticket, I've moved mine and seems a few are, 2,000 Watford fans could help us to get the win here. As Delia said "come on where are ya, lets be havin ya"
hi willia, i'm gutted that i won't be at Cardiff...so i hope that you and the others can make loads of noise, and make sure we get the 3 points! i'm relying on you, don't let me down!
Despite it being a big game, what effect will the game being on tv have on the attendance figure and therefore the atmosphere?
None if we all decide to go and move seats to the vic end, like minded singing fans next to ech other rather than spread out
I am going to bore some of you witless with this but I have to keep pushing!! On April 6th we play Cardiff, the club have made the Vic Road End unreserved seating. This means that if you buy a ticket in this area, or move your ST from any other area you can sit where you want, next to who you want. There is room for 2,200 Watford fans, I was at the ticket focus group on Tuesday, as it stands only about 200 have done this (me being two of them). Now I know that between now and then we have 3 more important games, but im not doing this because i think Cardiff will be a huge game where we get promoted,it's about seeing if there is a demand for unreserved seating and to just have a bit of forward planning and if this will help the library type atmosphere that we currently have (yes it was better v palace and second half v sheff wed). If people want a better atmosphere, I can't see a better way of creating it. So, if you want to sing (like away games). Call ticket office, ask to move ST to The Vic Road end for Cardiff game, they will send you a paper ticket, you then attend and sit where you want, next to who you want. Come on Guys lets do this, and tell your mates aswell.
Guys, come on. As of a few days ago only about 300 had moved their seats. It has now been announced that Cardiff have sold oout there allocation, that means 2,200 singing against 300 at the moment. Come on guys lets do this. We have to show the club that unreserved seating is needed and can work.
the club are going to start pushing this after the Burnley game, i think then you'll find that people may start moving, but as someone said on Twitter...there will be a lot of people reluctant to give up a good seat in the rous or rookery, to go and stand in a crowd. They guys organising this know that if i was there, i'd be there! lol
I think you are trying to flog a dead horse on here mate - what would I do at a match without the bloke next to me moaning the whole game through as he has for the past 8 seasons! Not for me, I'm staying in row moaner in The Rookery
There will be a large crowd there for the game so I would hope that all the seats will be taken wherever they are in the ground.
Let's not kid ourselves - Watford is not a "singing club". In all my years there we have never generated much real atmosphere. I am sure it is partly due to the acoustics of the stadium - being so large and open any noise that is generated does not carry around the ground but dissipates into the sky - I have been to matches where I have been amongst a group who have sung our hearts out and thought we were making a row and then met friends from another part of the ground afterwards who have said we did not make much noise today. Plus we are Hertfordshire and awfully polite don't you know - not one of those raucous upstart clubs who make a lot of unseemly noise. I don't even think a brand new stadium would help - we just do not have the history of a vocal club
This is where is conflicts, when i was growing up, i always remember Watford being better away, but fans i know that have followed for longer, they say they remember days/nights when the vic was electric. My point is this, just because we used to be something or oour history says that we do things a certain way, doesnt mean it has to stay that way, just look at the football being served up, it couldnt be further removed from what Watford was supposed to be (long ball). Why cant the atmosphere change, why cant we have a 25,000 all seater stadium that we pack out, and the club allow a certain area to be for unreserved seating, so that like minded individuals sit with who they want and sing and chant. Not everybody wants this, but then i also dont like sitting nest to the bloke that says nothing all game, sits on his hand until the 93 rd minute when he slaps his leg because a pass went astray.
Yes, but maybe the difference between then and now is that back then you weren't restricted by bloody seats and could stand wherever you wanted and next to whomever you wanted........ And maybe the style of football being served up today is far removed from what was on offer back then, but that doesn't mean that it is any better. Under GT in the 70s/80s, when the team clicked, the football was breathtaking and far more exciting than what is on offer today - and IMO excitement is what helps create the atmosphere. Our fourth goal was against Huddersfield was certainly technical excellence and a joy to behold - and probably something that never could have been expected by our fans over the course of the club's history, but when Rostron & Bolton time and time again during a match released Cally, Blissett or Barnes, you could hear and almost feel and taste the expectation & excitement rising. We don't seem to get that these days, so perhaps that is what is missing.
Hi everybody, just me ready to make the final nause to you all. Last night at Hull was awesome, we were loud and sang right from the off. We were able to stand and were not naused by over zealous stewards to sit down. As the closing stages came, you could see Battochio, Chalobah and Deeney all trying to get us going, they needed us and we responded in full voice. After the game they all went to Twitter and were thanking the fans, we made the difference. I think it's Hornetboy one that has posted before in relation to our home performances, maybe the fans negativity spills over onto the pitch. After yesterday I I wonder if there maybe some truth in this, Saturday we need full voice, full song. Anybody who hasn't moved, please do it. Lets all get. In The Vic Rd end and create some noise.
willia6691, as you know i won't be there, but my son is going with his friends and they've moved all the tickets to the Vic Road end...loud and proud , they can't wait! Hopefully it will be a full house up that end..though sadly, i suspect it will be a sorry sight next to the Cardiff fans! Hope i'm wrong..i shall be watching...i wanna hear you like we were heard last night! Darn, wasn't it fab! ))
