I think any player who breaks another players leg and ends their career when committing a foul should be made to pay half their wages to him. That would probably end the career of lumberjacks like Shawcross.
Diaby's 36th injury in 7 years... holy ****. Maybe he just wasn't meant to play football? His body clearly isn't built for it.
Even when he was fit, he played with a discernable sense of fearing getting clattered. In the run-in during the season when we lost 3rd place to City he was hesiatnt and dithered, badly affecting the cutting edge pf our attacking play. He has shwon glimpses of the player he could have been. On the plus side he could do a RVP and finally overcome his problems. Let us alsonot forget that poor recent record Arsenal of bringing players back to season-long fitness from injury. RvP alluded to superior conditioning work at Utd which served to protect against injury. Eduardo, Rosicky, Wilshere, DIaby. Only one who seems to have that basic fitness back is Ramsey. Even TV was stop-start on his return. I think this is another key area Arsenal have gone backwards in compared to other clubs. Webger needs to have fresh blood around him, people with new ideas on fitness and footballing matters. For Diaby himself, I sincerely hope he comes through and is able to prove himself. For Arsenal, I hope the ridiculous line that gets trotted out every transfer window about no need to spend because of returns from injury is finally laid to bed. We need someone to play in that defensive midfield role, and preferabbly have 2 players we can rotate and hence give cover for injuries.
