Or did anyone else think Adel look very lardy on Monday night? Wondered if his apparent unfit state was why Harry took him off. Even though he was fading, I wanted him on as we needed a bit of magic. But perhaps Harry knows he's not properly fit. He certainly looked more porky - unless it was my tv
I had the same impression, and commented on the Clive's latest thread. Do TVs have 'horizontal hold' nowadays?
Too much hummus. But I thought he looked great and thought we would have still had a better go towards the end with a tired Taarabt.
I'd have preferred a 20 stone Taarabt to stay on the pitch instead of the cart horse that is Bobby Zamora. Taarabt scored a good goal and performed a sublime piece of skill to win the penalty. He was heavily marked by Fulham after what he did to them at our place and he would have been in his element in the last 15 minutes when they were down to 10 men. Bad substitution by Harry.
Only saw very limited highlight of the game but he didnt look fit. having said that, he did take his goal well! cant comment on his all round game as didnt really see it !
He does look bigger now, but he is a creative player and one we shouldnt really have taken off just when we needed to get that extra goal back. Although contradicting that I would have replaced him at half time if he hadnt scored as it just wasnt working for him (or our team in general in the first half).
I can. Slow start as Fulham put up to 3 men on him. However got the better of them by half time. It was no coincidence that our attacking threat faded as soon as he went off. Given Harry's comments (fully justified) I'm amazed that he was not able to get the message to Samba and the others that we did not need Samba going up front for the last 15 minutes. If he wants to atone for his performance he needs to ensure that it never happens again. However it's not the first time that Harold has made the wrong substitution
