^ This ^ And it was soooooooooooooooo obvious from the stands! If Evans & Quinn had have been introduced at HT, when they SHOULD have been, we would have got something from that game, and even if we didn't Watford would have known that they were in a game, because, other than for the first 15, they certainly didn't until Evans & Quinn were brought on! To be fair the midfield duo of Koren & Boyd sounded quite exciting prior to KO, it was only after 15 minutes that I realised how pathetic they are, as a pairing, at regaining possession/stopping the opposition from playing! Leaving them both on regardless almost certainly cost us last night.
Exactly my thoughts, and I'm sure everyone else thought the same too but some are to proud to own up to it and would rather give Steve Bruce stick.
Yes but the obvious mistake, from Steve Bruce, was seemingly not recognising that it wasn't working and changing it. I'm sure that I wasn't alone at the KC last night in being shocked that the same starting eleven emerged from the tunnel for the start of the second half. I'm sorry, as much as I think SB has done a fantastic job so far, that was just very poor, we were getting completely over run between 15 & 45! Was it not blatantly obvious that a change/changes needed to be made, and that the solution/solutions were on the bench?
He's a left wing-back, therefore defending is a huge part of his job, he did it very well in the first, and it's not often I'd say that about Brady.
The one thing I've noticed about Bruce is that he is slow to change things, I think he underestimated Watford, as did all of us.
With respect, why would amyone underestimate Watford. Third in the league and loads of goals. I think cardiff's problem for the past couple of months was affording the opposition too much respect.
Because they're not on their best run and conceded 3 at home against Burnley last week. With them dropping points I think everyone thought we could do them and kill the season off.
Couple of things that stood out for me were; how poor Boyd's passing is. One part of his game which lets him down, imo. and how fast Brady actually is. I knew he was quick, but not that quick.
In exactly the same way as you can say Faye when he failed to close Deeney down when he scored his goal, it's called personal opinion
Problem we had is we went to attacking, with no pace in midfield and we had three players playing centre mid when all of them play better elsewhere. However on topic Faye Hobbs Brady I feel a bit harsh not putting Chester there personally, but i think all of the back three where brilliant really, barely put a foot wrong all game, their distribution was good to. Also i thought Brady put in a good shift and defensively was good. He did well going forward considering he had two men on him and no-one seemed to help him out.
