I can only think its that we have 2 capable players for that position with taylor coming back and richards also given a new contract. Its possible too that tendallis wages wouldnt be cheap. I like this guy tbh but have no idea how big a squad we are planning on having next season and what other names might be in the frame.

Curtis has said we're signing 4-6 players next season. Of course we'll be getting rid of deadwood too.

I see no reason why we're not giving him a contract though. Competition for places is vital

Didn't someone on here recently post an article saying we were interested in signing a former Barca right back who is with Espanyol at the moment? Think the article said the boy is only 21?

Going to the Evening Post and Moaning about it, is going to help him get a new contract.

To be fair to him, he sounds resigned to leaving and this is probably more about notifying other clubs that he's available. Nothing wrong with trying to generate a bit of interest for yourself.

I actually think it's a bit sh1tty of the club not to have notified him either way at this point. Just goes to show how cut-throat the industry is and how player's need agents to ensure they aren't left without contracts...although I guess maybe this is the same thing that happened to him previously where he was without a club for a while....

For me, Tiendalli is worth another 12 months, particularly with Europe on the horizon and the consequent need for depth. He has proved that he can effectively step up when asked and has rarely let us down. He is also FREE in terms of a transfer fee.

We are all anticipating the return of Taylor, which would see us well served for full backs. But how do we know how well Taylor will perform? Perish the thought but he might never rediscover his previous form. It does happen and frequently. Even if he does, it could take quite a while before he is up to speed. Can we afford to wait? Europe will be on us before we blink. Providing his wage demands are reasonable, I think Tiendalli should stay.

To be fair Ivor, we have no idea what has been lined up. They may have another fullback ready to sign and lets not forget that Jazz has just signed a new contract.

True enough, Trundle, and this coincides with Alan Curtis' statement today that we are looking to sign at least four to six players in the summer. Even so, Taylor's form will be an unknown entity and Dwight has shown that he can slot in with good effect for us. Given that he will cost us nothing but his wages, I still think that he is worth a twelve month extension. The boost that would give his confidence just might raise his game to even greater heights and he's certainly shown the potential to do that.

Ivor I do agree that when called on he has played well and looks well good enough for the PL. But, I suppose we have to trust the judgement of the club.

True...he also seems to be the only player in the squad that can actually cross the ball effectively - bit bizarre that, as we have a fair number of wingers! lol

Thing is we only have 1 side of the story.

What if he had been offered a contract a few weeks ago but was demanding silly money. Club may then have told him we wont offer a new contract, well a few weeks later, he still hasn't been offered a new contract, and that could be the story. We can only summise, after all it is the EP.

Or maybe ML has lined up a better replacement than Tiendalli. I'd be astonished if we got rid of him without bringing in a better replacement so as Swansalona has hinted towards, maybe there is more than meets the eye with the story as Tiendalli has been great when called upon this season for us and has done much better than I think anybody could ever have thought when we signed him as a cover player for Taylor.

Jazz is not the answer or he would already be playing games to a regular standard, the lad is just not good enough for a regular first team place, He can fill in off the subs bench in an emergency but as a regular then we need much better......Tiendalli is rumored to be on liverpools radar so unless the money is right then it looks as if he might leave. He loves it here but so do the others and that is not enough for players these days as contracts and the size of contracts and the package that goes with it counts......I hope we can do a deal with him but i wont hold my breath...

I'd be very surprised if anything happens there Dai as they have Glen Johnson playing right back and Martin Kelly coming through from the academy. He is too good for a squad player and would strengthen many sides in the PL alone. But as you point out, some players are only interested in the contracts and more importantly are happy enough to take the money and sit on the bench ala Scott Sinclair.

I would take sinclair back if he wanted to come as he needs to play regular football and apart from cup and reserve matches then he wont get that at man city. I heard that he is not getting that much moe than what we were paying him and michu is now on more than he is on.....he would have stayed if it was not for helens persistance in wanting him to move back to england and now he has ditched her his priorities have changed.....I think man city will off load him in the summer anyway so i would not mind us trying to get him....
