That's ****e news, I `m a fan though admittedly he`s either very,very good or very,very tedious. I met and chatted with him one very out of control night in The Griffin back in the days when I often took so much speed it made my eyes roll back in their sockets - he was modest, self-effacing and kept somewhat disingenuously insisting he wasn't actually Iain Banks - consequently I like to think tucked away somewhere in one of his books is a minor character based around yours truly.........either that or I psychotically buttonholed some poor unfortunate beardy person who probably now has panic attacks anytime he walks close to Charing Cross.
