So now we know who has gone down, the race will be on to sign the best players from the relegated teams. We've already had a lot of speculation linking us with moves for Ba at West Ham, Larsson at Birmingham and Vaughan at Blackpool, but who else would you like to see arrive at the SoL in the summer?

I'll start it off with CB Roger Johnson from Birmingham

I'd rather have Adam from Blackpool.

Would take an of the following.....

    Ben Foster
    Roger Johnson
    Liam Ridgewell
    Cameron Jerome
    DJ Cambell
    Demba Ba
    Tomkins or summat the cb?

All would improve us imo although I know I may be in the minority with some of those.

Foster, Johnson & Ba will do for our squad players. Then get the quality in.

We won't get him, but Scott Parker would be amazing.

Ba, Campbell and Foster would be good, Adam would be great but I can see him going to a bigger club.

I don't understand your reasoning tnt? You still have good players in any failing team. Let's say Rooney was playing for West Ham this season. Would you ignore the possibility of signing him, because West Ham failed to stay up?

All three of the relegated teams have players that would improve our squad.

I know it's not addressed to me Dorset, but I agree with Talc. Fact is it's not Rooney is it? Not even Parker. It's bits n pieces players we're talking about, and we should aspire to something better.

Noble and Ba of West Ham (Parker unrealistic)

    Adam off Blackpool.

Johnson, Dann and Larsson off Brum.

I wouldn't call the likes of Robert Green, Ba, Johnson, Larsson or Adam "bits and pieces" players WWY. They would certainly improve our depleted squad and let's face it, Steve Bruce is after 9 players, without 9 players money (as far as we know). If we are after breaking our transfer record for a front man, it's not going to leave a lot of cash in which to acquire the other 8 players that the manager wants. Relegated clubs generally have to sell players at 25% below market value to balance the books, so there's bargains to be had.

Exactly, we can't possibly buy 9 world beaters.

If we can add 2 or 3 bits of class, and 5 or 6 solid premier standard players, be they free, cheap or otherwise, then we're motoring.

We do have a solid base there are several very good players in place, we need some garnish, not a whole extra steak.

Johnson of Birmingham to improve our cb, wouldn't say no to Forster and if we believe the reports we have a chance of Larsson. Vaughan of Blackpool seems tidy but Ba's knee seems to be dodgy and with our record of injuries we'd soon knack him so I would steer clear.

Have to agree to differ mate. Like I said to BB yesterday, I'd rather see him in goal than Green. He is a pile of ****. Ba - injury waiting to happen (heard that before). Johnson and Larsson are so Bits n Pieces they were in the Dave Clark 5. Adam - spoken for.

I have to agree. Why only look at the relegated players. Sure their cheaper but don't we want the right players even if it costs a little more?

This is unrealistic and there are rich pickings to be had.

Was Phillips worth more than 4m in 2002? Was he rubbish by then?
