Two football fans have been banned for attending matches for five years after singing offensive songs at a Rangers FC match. The Glasgow-based side were playing Montrose at Links Park, in the Angus town, on Saturday when the offences took place. Arbroath Sheriff Court heard on Tuesday that Andrew Fitzpatrick from Glasgow and Mark Simpson from Cupar were arrested by police after they were heard singing a religiously offensive song followed by another song, the lyrics of which proclaim support of a paramilitary organisation. Vicki Bell, football liaison prosecutor for the north of Scotland, said: âGood natured cheering and singing in support of your team is all part of the experience of attending a match and adds to the atmosphere. âOffensive singing of this nature however is totally unacceptable and we will continue to do all that we can to protect the public from such behaviour.â Fitzpatrick was also fined £200 and Simpson fined £350. yeah, 2nd division is fine though! ps. "pathetic" was to address more than one point about this thread.
Why would it be ok in the 2nd division? I'm guessing it's not, but I'm sure we'll find out in due course So facts are pathetic now, huh? #hunbelievable
the way you posted suggest that it was only in division 3 that these songs were unacceptable. not the sharpest today are you?
Your interpretation is different from the facts, or are you insinuating you know more about how my mind works than I do? Explain the 'sharpest' comment so i can point and laugh at you while trying to understand what you're on about.
ok why mention the fact it took place at a third division ground? that suggests that its ok to sing these songs at any other ground.
all what mate? I've just "dev'd" tina and now dev is trying to back her up. quick tina, put up another stickman or kitten falling down stairs!
Good ban the lot of them. When we constantly talk about obsession on these boards we neglect the fact that this city seems to have been obsessed with Ireland for decades. We've got idiots on our side singing about the pitiful religious aspects of the Irish then in the East end the politically naive use it as their excuse to purge their bile. Football is not the place for politics or religion.
i don't think i've assumed much about you. you mock the dead then try to cover it up you try to provoke people but using derogatory terms you watch wwe you sometimes mis-read things and jump to conclusions
I'm assuming that should read 'by' but you thought it should be 'buy' and yet you still ****ed it up by spelling it as 'but'?
